How long should a gallery take to build ? ? ?
 

The design and html is already made .... 20 pictures have already been pre selected.

All the gallery builder has to do is run the pictures through a photoshop action to fix the Auto Contrast, add a watermark, resize the original picture and crop the thumbs.

Drop the images into the repective folder and add the alt tags for SEO ?

What do you think an average time should take being done by someone who is knowlegable in photoshop and html ? ? ?

a couple of hours. but you might want to give them a day or two just to be reasonable.

actually, now that i think about it, that should take about 10 minutes.

It takes an hour or two!

for me, a week. for my designer, an hour or two.

yea, 5 minutes?? should be easy :)

depends.. if you just want a standard action then 5 minutes.. but pic and thumb optimization shouldn't be done automatically.. the auto contrast on photoshop can do some funny things.

i can make a good one in 20mins with those above mentioned steps done.

Hi Stacey it should take you in between 15 to 30 minutes to get that job done. Anymore time would you would be doing something wrong.

It takes me 40 minutes to design a high quality gallery and about 20 minutes to slice it.

About 2 or 3 hours. Depends how fast and smart is your designer.... :thumbsup

Well, I wouldn't personally use a PS action to fix the Auto Contrast because it could be different for each picture. (Unless in this case you're sure the same settings will fix each pic in the gallery.)

One action to resize them all, another to make them all into thumbs, another action to watermark the originals... only 20 pics per gallery? Two hours at most.

Those are the easy things for me, the PS actions. What holds me up is the individual picture tweaking if it's needed. Adjusting the brightness, cleaning up red eye or acne, etc.

Gallery design : 1h to 2h.
Pics selecting : 10 mins
Pics cropping/thumbs : 10 mins
SEO stuff : 15 mins

That would depend on how much you are paying the person.
Everybody has a list of priorities.

Probably depends on the quality output you're looking for, more than anything else. You might be perfectly satisified with a 10 minute job, and maybe even unable to really tell the difference between a 10 minute job vs a 1 hour job. However, you should do some tests if you're wanting 10 minute results to see if the conversions are similiar.

Hmmn...if you're job is submitting galleries and that you've been doing it for months then 15-20 minutes is quite easy...but if its your very first time to submit galleries then expect some time to adjust...
