Sigs .. whats the point?
 

ok.. i am just not getting this.. why do people sig whore?

does it give traffic to the affiliate program or something .. because i didn't see a significant traffic from GFY.. not enough to be worth the time people are putting on sig whoring?

so if someone can actually be useful for once without sig whoring this place with tons of bull ... and explain the point of sig whoring.. I would really appreciate it.

I get people signing up under my ref code cause of my sig. So its worth it.

I've done a ton of sales through my sig, for various things. It's stupid to not have a sig, IMO.

My sig is directly responsible for a number of sales...I won't elaborate on it..but put at least one link there that will make you money if people click and buy.....:thumbsup

My sig has brought me in an extra $10k-$15k per year for the past several years.

And I am not paid per-post.

THAT is the "deal" with having a sig.....at least for me. I hope that answers your question, because I'm not sure what else you might need by way of an answer.

A lot of people never find the easy money in online porn that they expected, but until reality bites hard, they will give anything (easy) a shot. Most don't realize that successful sig-whoring is more than simply banging up links under a 5-word post, but while they are still around, they help keep boards like GFY in business.

I usually visit with sigs off and it's interesting to see which "pros", despite surely knowing that lots of people do the same, write their blurb and then say "see sig for link". A pity, because the only chance I might sign up through a referral link is when the poster has made some attempt to sell whatever it is he is promoting...

Anyway, I'm running on almost zero sleep, the hot water tank in my rental duplex crapped out overnight, had to get the heating company to come down and gouge me for close to $100 bucks for a 10-minute adjustment. I may be a little testy.

As already mentioned it is more of a branding thing.

Its funny because I talk to several people a day that I know noticed Adult Alchemy from my sig on one of the boards yet when they sign up 90% of the time they type in instead of going through my sig for tracking.

It doesn't bother me as I don't care how they sign up with us as long as they try us out. From an affiliate stand point looking to collect on the referal bonus it would be frustrating.

Hey, I'm on day 3 of weekend session. We quit drinking during the week, so we make up for it on the weekend. :)

Well... If I get 1-2 new affiliates per week, I'm happy! Of course I want more, but TOO many here on gfy are just surfers!

it does actually bring in traffic and signups for the affiliate program... plus there is also the branding...
