After reading all those raving reviews, I thought it was great.. I know I am fucking annoying, but I just want to warn others about this bullshit.. And I am really SICK OF IT. What kind of service is this? :( I guess I am the one to blame for believing in a good service for such a good price.. |
Jason told me BSD60 was being worked on a few days ago, my sites are down right now as well..., its possible the same problems are existing for more than a few of us.
|
Get off virtual and you'll be fine, my sites load fine with him.

Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. Please contact the server administrator, [email protected] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error. More information about this error may be available in the server error log. I am geting this when trying to run AGP 2.0 Ugh, This is crucial that this works |

Why most ppl get so bitch about small offers... don't like them don't look at them and ignor them... is it that hard?
|

jason
forget virtual clients not worth it :) |
he can take in one client who can push enough mbps in a month to take care of 100 virtual clients
not worth it at all if its a problem |

seems like shit to me.
I don't see 2-3 complaints per week about other hosting compaines. You get what you pay for. |
who knows haven't talked to jason yet
but you know if you are having a problem its smarter to get ahold of them then to go on a bash frenzy on this board it usualy works out better when you call the people direct if need be i can call jason and he can explain to me whats wrong |
If I were you I would get Jason to give you a dedicated server. :thumbsup
|
no doubt
you know how low cost a dedicated server with him and paying per mbps shit if you can't afford that then don't be in this business, its not a part-time kind of business |
hey cyborg, those prices are way out of tap with reality, i wasnt even paying that much in 1996....

Unfortunately, I have problems on bsd60.cologroup.com too :(
Glad to see, that I am not the only one... |
jason is at dallas airport on his way to a computer ... he knows there is a problem with v-host, and is in touch with his support folks.
i say stop v-hosting too. stick to the bw/server hogs ... :BangBang: v-host |

What, because I thought this was a good deal I am the one to blame here? Come on.. I don't need a dedicated server for TGP and free sites.. Please. It has nothing to do with the fact that I can't afford it, IF I NEEDED a decidated server, I would use one. |
well if you had a dedicated server and paying per mbps you'd be paying lower then per gig virtual :)
and probably have less problems as well :) i dunno i guess i am stupid, been with hosting companies for 7 years now i dont know shit hehe |

Dedicated server = 300$/month Am I missing something here? |
then this obviously isn't full time bizz for you :)

Serious hosting companies pay the same attention to virtual accounts like they do to dedicated ones. This is A RULE and the host owners here can verify me. FACTS: 1. Most of webmasters start from v.accounts and later on some of them jump to d.server/s 2. The ones that are very satisfied with their hosting company and have a dedicated server they won't move to another one even in some cases the cost is half or less. You don't start a hosting company and you try to get big clients. If you do you'll fail most of the times. Reputation is everything and is earned VERY HARD and takes time. |

V customers are very important in the hosting business model. You need a good mix of Dedicated and Virtual customers to be profitable. |
Point blank.
I wouldn't expect the best for $50 jason goes the extra mile for every client of his, he bills me jus tlike any of you, i am not doing him a favor and getting something in return for speaking up for him...you can ask him, he bills us like the rest of yall :) i am smart enough to know that $50 wont get you far, and any hosting company who is going to bend hella far over their back for $50 is probably lieing...though there may be hurting hosting companies out there that need the cash :) i'd concentrate on bigger clients in regards to hosting |

What I meant was that dedicated is 300$/month and virtual is 50$/month, I don't care if the gig would cost 0,000000000001 cents if I had a dedicated server.. My point was THAT i don't need dedicated. 100 gigs per month is fine for me now.. If I needed one, like I said, I'be with a dedicated server.. |
ok bro i gotcha
just don't get so hyped up over a $50 virtual, i know jason will get your problem fixed as soon as he can if he has not already have but bitching on here is your last resort call, email, icq first :) and i know you can get through to him, i always have... |

If you have a problem just pick up the phone and talk to Jason, ICQ, or Email him.
|
So, if I rent a dedicated box out, I'd gross $300/month from it.
While with a box with a dozen virtual clients on it, I make twice that. As well as having 12 times as many wheels that may squeak when something goes wrong (possibly on a forum such as this one). Now, where do you think my tech support energy might best be used? |

NoCarrier has all valid points. If Cologroup cannot run a good solid virtual server, then he should not offer it in their services, thats plain and simple. I will agree that bringing a hosting problem to the boards everytime something happens sucks for the hosts, but that does not negate the fact that cologroup has had to many problems in the past 2 weeks with their virtual hosting. I don't know this Jayson dude, but from what I read here, he spams the shit out of his hosting all the time when things are good (just like a used car salesman). But when things are bad he's noplace to be found, and don't tell me this crap about that hes working on the problem. Hell it's been 2 weeks weve heard about his virtual problems. He could have built a new server by now and configured it correctly, and all these so called problems would not be happening.
Like I said, I don't know Jayson, and I'm not pissing on him, I'm just stating facts the way I see them from reading all these threads. |
nocarrier is an unethical twit if you ask me.... when i have problems with one of my 4 ISPs I call them... problem solved...
hell ive never had a problem with my cologroup server and i have not ever had to use jasons cellphone, myles's cellphone, etc other than to confirm a tee time! it is apparent alterior motives are at work here, and timed perfectly while jason is in transit to FL to visit his daughter..... go figure =) |
Everyone is at a different level.
Some people make 1 million/month others makes $50/month The big players in this thread need to remember this. Dedicated hosting is the way to go, but if someone is just pushing 100 GB per month, they would likely lose money going dedicated. I think some of the people doing very well are not thinking of the "little guy" in this situation. A guying doing 25 GB a month should be treated the same as the guy doing 25000 GB per month. If a company doesn't give a shit about the little guy, they should close virtual accounts and just focus on the big players. Its not right to open up to everyone (big or small) when the service is crappy for anyone not using dedicated. HOWEVER>>> I don't see why people complain on msg boards if their website goes down. You should contact the host. |

I sent an ICQ message to one of the support guy. 10-15 mins later he logged off without answering. My patience has limits.. |
