Lesson 1 on how to use ICQ.

If it says I'm offline and it's 4.00 am in the EU I'm probable sleeping and no9t going to reply to "Hi".

Leave a fucking message and I will get back to you.

End of rant.

Opened ICQ this morning to 5 messages with "Hi" or "Are you there?" When the computer was switched off.

They are all now gone or not responding.

Dagwolf 05-19-2006 11:49 PM

Hi, are you there?

I usually do the "are you there?" Then give it 5 mins. If no response I leave a message and ask them to hit me up when they are around and free. :winkwink:

I do that also, people hit me up all the time at odd hours, does not bother me at all.

It would seem the sensible thing to do. Leave a message and then move on.

Why even ask if someone is there? Your first line should tell them in a concise way what you're contacting them about. I often get strangers saying just "hi" so of course I say "hi" back... and they're no longer there. If something is important enough to contact me about then don't spend 2 days exchanging greetings before I find out what you wanted to discuss!

I love when people think you live on icq .. they will send a message HI your there and one min later guess your not reliable talk to you later ?? i watch icq flash for hours sometimes If I'm busy .. but some people just will never understand

Antonio 05-20-2006 03:47 AM

It wasn't me but sometimes people put themselves on busy or invisible and that is *why* people say 'hi you there'.

Just wondering - how do you expect people to know when your computer is off?

Maybe there is a reason they are in that mode. And to get them out of that mode you tell them what it's about.

I reckon very little of it is so important as few come back.

The other one I find strange is those who add me to their list and then have nothing to say to me. Added me because they think I'm the right person to have on their list.

Could understand if it were someone like Juicy, but I'm way too old to be cool. :1orglaugh

yes very true

when I contact a stranger I always apply for contact list with the reason I am hitting the person up.

Unless I am doing because of something I know the person wouldn't like to answer

Grapesoda 05-20-2006 06:13 AM

I dumped ICQ . . . can you hit me with an email > need some HC vids and sets . . . like to see a sample vid and read some prices on 50 vids + sets -bmb

Choppa 05-20-2006 06:15 AM

yeah some people are just impatient , or have lots of "for rent" space between their ears
