are they venomous? I thought the saying was red touch black, friend of jack, red touch yellow kill a fellow. Maybe I have my snakes mixed up. King Snake is the deadly one, milk snake the other?

The easy way to tell for sure if it is the venomous type is to pick it up and have it bite you. Let me know if you need any other advice.
