I just got back from a great vacation in the Dominican Republic.. I took a few rides through the actual towns and countryside.. life there is definitely not easy.. but anyway, one thing i did notice were small gated communities that were RIGHT next to large resorts... Many of these were very very close to the beach/oceanview.. i looked up some prices online and they dont seem too steep, and i'm sure they can be bargained..
