the smarter the thread, the faster it drops

NoWhErE 05-18-2006 04:31 PM

Its because you've got whores that bump the shit out of their threads and have their friends that keep bumping the threads.

Then the surfers bump the pic threads.

By the time smart people get to looking at the list of threads, yours is already at the bottom or on the 2nd page and most people with an ounce of a brain couldn't be bothered sifting through 45 threads about Juicy photochops or reasons for Madawgs to post stupid shit, to keep going on.

True, if it is a thread about balls itching or what someone is watching on TV it will stay up for days. If it is a thread that is actually interesting, it dies quick. Hell even the good threads get invaded with stupid ass pictures and irrelevant posts about nuts itching etc. I suppose some think its funny but really it gets old. Yet, people insist on promoting such behavior by post whoring with :1orglaugh and such.

i would say it's a function of their weight and current resistance

No one cares about my thread about "what social class are webmasters in?"

I guess no one cares about class or being high-class, but I care about class a lot! Someone post an opinion in my thread damn it!

It's on the front page still. Hit control + F and search for "class"

CyberHustler 05-18-2006 04:41 PM

Gravity. They are just traveling the shortest path through curved space time.

Test out this theory: put "Business Thread" in the title and track the time it takes to hit Second page.

bump for a good thread

reynold 05-18-2006 11:35 PM

....because some people have so much time for silly threads than the important and interesting topics.

Barefootsies 05-19-2006 05:25 AM

Because business threads are labeled as such, so they move on to itchy nuts, cowbell, hit this, and so on.

But also they are generally well written, longer than a sentence, with correct punctuation. Meaning, you are going to get a lot of pictures of how it's too long to read.

But then some others will actually take the time to write out a well thought out reply. Just to have some picture of Colin Powell saying, "I ain't going to read dat shit", or something.

If it's longer than a few sentences, missing a punchline, or has a purpose. Then it's on page 20 within an hour.

:disgust

Oh, and don't forget all of the.. sig spot secured, siggy niggie and so on.
