ok Spent all freaking day reformating both my hard drives re partition BOTH of them reinstalled my backups AFTER I scanned them again for a virus after about 8 hours of backing up reformating and re installing my shit ass computer was still running slower then normal so i re did the virus scan well low and behold IT WAS FUCKING BACK @#!$#@ :feels-hot :mad:



This is the correct name of it bdeverify.exe
anyone know what the fuck it is? And if you do HOW THE HELL DO YOU get rid of this cod bad once and for all. and DONT SAY FORMAT C: cause damnit I formated C: and D: ARGH@#$

Tom, when you did your backup b4 you formatted.... did you kill the virus first? If not, then you backed up the virus too and just reinstalled it.... if that's the case, then guess what..... you gotta make SURE your system is clean first, then back it all up, and go through it again..... but before you do that..... just kill the thing first and see if it'll solve the issue.

I found this in about 2 seconds using Google. It looks like it has something to do with Kazaa....


For those of you who have used Kazaa, this might interest you. An uninstall does not remove all the components that Brilliant have installed on your system. Here are some instructions to clean this off your system totally:

Do a file search for bde*.* in your Windows system directory. Search and destroy the following:

c:\Windows\BDE (the folder and everything in it)
c:\Windows\Temp\Brilliant (the folder and everything in it)
c:\Windows\SYSTEM\bdedata2.dll
c:\Windows\SYSTEM\bdedownloader.dll
c:\Windows\SYSTEM\bdefdi.dll
c:\Windows\SYSTEM\bdeinsta2.dll
c:\Windows\SYSTEM\bdeinstall.exe
c:\Windows\SYSTEM\bdesecureinstall.cab
c:\Windows\SYSTEM\bdesecureinstall.exe
c:\Windows\SYSTEM\bdeverify.dll
c:\Windows\SYSTEM\bdeverify.exe

Now fire up Regedit and delete the following trails:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.b3ds
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\b3ds_auto_file
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\BDESmartInstaller.BDESmartInstal ler
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\BDESmartInstaller.BDESmartInstal ler.1
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{67925165-C4B6-11D2-B9C6-0000E84F59A6}
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\{82FC7881-AACC-11D2-B9C6-0000E842E40A}
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Brilliant Digital Entertainment
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Zupdate

Additionally, the B3D Projector configures itself to update silently at system startup. To remove this (yes, not even this is removed at uninstall), delete the b3dUpdate value at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software \Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run.

also, you need to KNOW the virus first..... alot of things depend on what the virus does. For instance, the Monkey B virus cannot be eliminated simply by formatting because it infects and rewrites the master boot record. You gotta nuke the system right down to the nuts and bolts. It's the only damn way to get rid of it. I once had to clean an entire office of Monkey B..... it took fucking forever.

So, before you do anything else.... identify exactly what's going on and what you have, and then know your virus.... read up on everything about it from McAfee or Norton.... and follow their recommendations on how to kill it. If it's in your MBR, you're fucked.

you can also use Ad Aware free software to remove any Spyware on your computer

I fucking hate the fucking viri that modify the registry so that you can only execute program with the virus installed. Once you remove the virus and forget to edit the registry, you can't do SHIT. NOTHING. NADA.

Well that explains why my icons kept chaging to weird shit and why non of IE would accecpt cookies. argh I even use ad ware but before i just delete everything i fucking have even backups I will try what twistyneck <preys it works>

If master boot record gets infected, can't you just start in dos mode and rewrite the boot record with fdisk?

MAN holy fucking christ ok in my back ground this is running rulaunch when i made a new mbr and rebooted it took forever but the macafee started before anything else and cleaned 7 fucking files it went so damn fast i didnt see what they were called what do I do now HAS anyone gone thru this bullshit if so PLEASE you get this fucking fixed for me I will build you a few free fucking galleries!
