30+ minutes into it....i'm ready to turn it off. No good actors.....pathetic cinematography

I said i'd wait till i saw it to completely bash it....well...guess what, huge pile of shit!

Evoked ZERO emotion

pr0 05-18-2006 11:17 AM

Scores a 1.2 / 10

And the 1.2 points came from the catchy title

Didn't expect anything different, with the attitude you went into it with there was no way you could have possibly been objective in viewing it. The overwhelming majority don't agree with you: http://imdb.com/title/tt0475276/externalreviews

you crack me up....

you're a monkey hybrid...living on a spinning rock....in the middle of a expanding vastness of nothing....where 95% of the population believes that talking to a make-believe diety in the sky will bring them good fortune

and if your opinions differ from that of the mainstream...you're a "conspiracy nut"

:1orglaugh

Your review rates 0/10.....

I'm sure the america haters, leftist losers, terrorist supporters, and conspiracy theorists on GFY will hate this meticulously researched, raw, suspenseful, and ACCURATE story of heroes of United 93.

This movie has been very well received by critics and movie goers alike.

In short, Pr0 is full of it, and out of touch as usual.

See this movie and judge for yourself. Its the best flick I've seen in years.

92% Rating: Fresh Avg. Rating: 8.1/10

"When I compile my Top 10 list of films for 2006, United 93 will be on it, and almost certainly close to the top."

-- James Berardinelli, REELVIEWS
"Greengrass' own formidable version brings [the story of United Airlines Flight 93] to life -- and to death -- with a bluntness and nobility that are almost too hard to bear."

-- Amy Biancolli, HOUSTON CHRONICLE
"... you come out feeling that the filmmakers have done the right thing by this day."

-- Ty Burr, BOSTON GLOBE
"United 93 doesn't provide tidy answers or emotional catharsis, but it is a courageous exploration of painful issues."

-- Colin Covert, MINNEAPOLIS STAR TRIBUNE
"... beat for beat, the whole thing plays out very much according to the Hollywood playbook."

-- Manohla Dargis, NEW YORK TIMES

"A few people made extraordinary use of those tormented minutes, and United 93 fully honors what was original and spontaneous and brave in their refusal to go quietly."

-- David Denby, NEW YORKER
"Others have attempted to tell us about Flight 93, but Greengrass may have made the definitive account, allowing his movie to unfold in real time."

-- Robert Denerstein, DENVER ROCKY MOUNTAIN NEWS
"To watch United 93 is to be confronted with the grim chaotic reality of that autumn day in 2001."

-- Roger Ebert, CHICAGO SUN-TIMES
"... United 93 is a riveting docudrama as compelling as it is odd."

-- Rick Groen, GLOBE AND MAIL
"Greengrass has made not only a thoroughly fact-checked film but a film that uncontrovertibly comes from the heart."

its a movie folks. BASED on a real story doesn't mean the real deal was anything even remotely like it. Its like thinking Schindler's List or any other WW2 'based on a real story' movie stuck to the way it actually went down. They died, its fucking tragic.

1) remove head from ass
2) take a few deep breaths

I assure you, this two step program will help you all feel better.

And just because some clueless, loudmouth, Canadian says otherwise, doesn't mean that the movie may not be 98% accurate. At least the makers of the film consulted many of the people directly involved in this incident.

Here is a little about the making of this movie:

I'm more inclined to believe the Greengrass version of this meticulously fact-checked story, than some arrogant asshole with a completely uninformed opinion.:disgust

As is noted in the links I included, one of the key players of story, Ben Sliney, the guy in charge of Air Traffic control was played by........ the real Ben Sliney in the movie. That guy should know what happened from the ATC perspective better than anyone else.

Although there my be some gaps in some specific details that we may never know, I think they got the story pretty close, given all the corroborating facts they did have.
