Tomatoes and avocados are fucking great alone ;) |
i'm forcing myself to eat the way i used to. healthy. i called over my video editor and gave him about 250 bucks worth of stuff that is not so good for you. then i went and bought 200 bucks worth of stuff that is. there is nothing in my house or office anymore that is crap. its tough to get used too, but this is day 4 of only healthy stuff. this was good stuff though.

I swithced to much healthier diet about a year ago, no more white bread, lotsa fish or prawns, fruits veggie, now I'm on 10 days break - no gym and junk food only going to the gym tomorrow, I'll sure be pissed off when I get on the scale, never been fat in my life, but it took me 4-5 months to lose 5 kgs, I think I put them back in the past 10 days ;( |

Middle Eastern Spinach Recipe
Quote:
½-1 lb of Beef Chuck or sirloin cut up into small pieces with the fat removed (amount of meat depends on how meaty you want the dish to be) 1lb of spinach 1 bunch of cilantro, chopped 3-4 cloves of garlic, crushed (depending on how much garlic you like) 1-2 tbsp olive oil Water 1-2 tsp cumin (depending on your taste) 1 tsp allspice Salt and pepper to taste 1-2 tbsp vegetable oil 3-4 tbsp lemon juice to flavor Recipe: 1) Heat vegetable oil in pot and add beef 2) Brown beef in oil while adding cumin, allspice, salt, and pepper (you may want to add more later for flavoring? some people do not like allspice since it has that nutmeg-y flavor) 3) Once beef is browned, add enough water to cover meat. 4) Bring to a boil and lower heat. Let boil/simmer for 30-40 min or so depending on type of meat used. Chuck takes longer than sirloin. I recommend you check on the tenderness of the meat after 30 min. 5) Once meat is tender, water should have mostly boiled away. You don?t need want a lot of water left in the pot since the spinach itself loses water when you throw it in. If there is too much water left, I suggest pouring some of it off. 6) Start adding spinach bit by bit and stirring it in until it starts to cook and become darker green. 7) As spinach is cooking, add olive oil in stir in. 8) Add chopped cilantro and stir. 9) After spinach and cilantro are mixed together, stir in garlic for 1-2 min and turn off heat. Serve with rice or eat with pita bread for true middle eastern style. Add lemon on top of spinach to flavor as you like. |
