It's also been on CNN, ABC and a ton of media publications. It's on the front page of the Toronto Sun newspaper today and thousands of blogs are linking to it to point out the fake.

A friend of mine owns this site and if you're interested in advertising over the next few days or buying the site outright please hit us up immediately. The site is getting smashed with traffic right now so if you can't access it that's the reason why.

Yes, I realize it is ironic that he explains right in his quote why he felt the need to put that message on his website, but I had an intense urge to use "all that is pure and sacred on our mother earth" in a sentence and this thread gave me an opportunity.

The Story of this Website:
Over the past few days, people have raised several questions about the website avirginsplea.com. I feel it is both my moral and ethical obligation at this point to spare my friend Geoff from any further personal embarrassment.

The site was a viral marketing experiment that got far too out of hand. Geoff was nothing more than a name and a photo - the story and website were created by me and all media interviews were performed by myself.

I apologize to the people of Toronto and everyone from around the world who saw our site. We did not expect this idea to go so far, and the real connections so many of the visitors to the site made to "Geoff's" story has made this experience especially difficult.

It made the front page of the Toronto Sun 2 days in a row and the reason the towel was thrown in bc the two faces on the site hated the attention and they didnt realize what they were in for when there pictures were taken. Its still going to have alot of traffic for another week or so bc alot more interviews are being done.

He should sell pixels for $1 a pixel. I've had an idea for doing that same thing on a site for some time now, but you can go ahead and use it. :pimp
