How do I stop Comment Spam
 

I am getting hundreds of these on my blogs every day!

Disable comments. Simple, no?

I just set comments to need approval before posting...:2 cents:

delete the comments once in a while...

need approval, ban word list for comments, captcha,
limited number of url's or no url's in comments,
turn them off

the same way you stop other kinds of spam.

image verification, I have all my comments turned off though, but I guess if yuo wnat to build 'real' blog you don't really have a choice

block the IP's . . . usually all from one place . . .

The web needs a proxy list service that's updated daily. I bet whoever does this makes millions.

99% of spam in all sorts come from proxies and spam networks.

disable comments...or are the other non-spam comments worth keeping?

Set them up on APPROVE ONLY settings.

Also, set up TRACKBACKS using the same settings. Watch out for trackback spam though.
