I'm working on a site for all this, but I keep getting so many inquiries, I figured I'd give you a place to put questions and the ability to contact me for more info.

So whether it's banks (and their benefits), real estate (the best investments in the world), investments ($$ means dual citizenship and a Panamanian passport), moving here (Why wouldn't you?) or if you just want the inside scoop on the party scene and the women...hit me up. :thumbsup

There's some pretty amazing stuff down here. Here's a few examples -

This is a 6,000 sq. ft. home on the beach in the kite surfing capital on Central and South America (Punta Chame). It's got everything you can imagine, including a guest house, pool, pool table, bahio...on and on. All for less than $1 mil. http://www.panamarealtor.com/view-details/9/1/467

Everything you could want, from a little condo to the biggest, most breathtaking mansion is here, for less than 1/3 of what it would be in the US. Additionally, there's incredible tax breaks and rooms in every place for maids, cooks, drivers and nannies (they run between $150 - $200 a month).

There is no shortage of amazingly hot girls down here. Panamanian (there's some pretty amazing Panamanians, you just have to find them), Columbian (they're everywhere...dumb, but hot), Brazilian (we all know they're hot, but generally pretty dumb too) and every other ethnicity in existence. There's even really sexy Asians for those of you with that persuasion and an even sexier common cross-breed we call "Pan-Asians" that get the best of both worlds.

You will never want for females here. :thumbsup

The mean temperature year 'round is 80 degrees farenheit, there's the world's best surfing, fishing, diving and everything else water-sports related all around. We've got the Carribean and the Pacific within 2 hours drive or a quick, cheap flight from one another. Incredible shopping in the canal free zone, the interior is amazing if you like to go stomping through the woods, mountain biking or if you feel like hanging out with people who live in loin cloths and titties hanging out. You've got the conveniences of Miami combined with the adventures of the rain forest, all within an hour of one another. It's an incredible place.

That's not to mention the incredible financial advantages, from the cost of living to the constitutionally-guaranteed banking privacy, a rock-solid government, almost no violent crime (especially with tourists), a real-estate market that's exploding (and still has 3 or 4 years to get into), investment opportunities that are not only guaranteed, but offer better rates of return than anything else you can just toss your money into and forget about 'til it's time to cash it in AND a host of other things that can be discussed individually.

There's a lot of it. In Bocas Del Toro (it's on the carribean side, 15 miles south of the Costa Rican border), there's a deep water marina and there's a couple further south near Colon and such too.

You coming over in the yacht?

On the pacific side, it's very common to see 50' to 100' foot yachts docked in the backyard up and down the coast. The water there drops off fast to 30'+

I looooooove Bocas del Toro :thumbsup Can't wait til I go again, I've considered moving there as well :)

My buddies have gone to PC and say it's amazing, hopefully I can make it down in the near future...

The government is monumentally corrupt...but that's not such a bad thing if you know people and/or have a few bucks in your pocket.

There's a HUGE gap between the "haves" and "have nots" here. On one hand, it pulls at your heart strings a bit. On the other, you accept it and realize that you can only help those you want to. So slip your maid an extra $20 and go on about your life.

i've never heard a better plan in my entire life. except when i was in brazil for a year. :)

ah Z.. life is good in deed! :thumbsup ... I am loving Panama as well! My office overlooks the Pacific ocean - what a stunning view. Every weekend I go to a different beach or enjoy coolness and serenity of the mountains. I would say quality of life is much higher for me right now than back in Toronto.

Investing.. there is a huge real estate boom going on here right now. Beach front properties are selling like hot cakes (but of course are still WAY cheaper than in US/Canada). A lot of people are retiring in Panama because of all the benefits offered by the government. And there are lot of benefits available to investors here as well... huge tax saving, etc.. no wonder so many companies are moving here.

Well there is a lot of info about Panama online, but the best way to learn about this beautiful country is, of course, to come visit Panama! :) And now you have an excuse to come here - Panama Summit will be held in January 2007. We'll be talking about setting up offshore operations, tax planning, outsourcing... and, of course, we'll be having beach parties and jungle tours in between all the seminars :winkwink: ... Yes, Z, you are invited too! :pimp

Aaah...monkey island! I love those little guys. I've got pictures of one of them running down one arm to get to the banana I was holding in the other hand. Sneaky little buggers..

is there still alot of cocaine distribution there?

Every week they bust X tons of coke on a boat or in a tractor trailer. They just found like 5 tons on ice a couple days ago, packed into fish.

I'm not into the stuff, but as I understand it's incredibly cheap, insanely good quality (Columbia's about an hour away) and most of my friends who are into it go buck wild while they're here.

sounds about most countries system that natural beauty hasnt been destroyed, i can live with that :)
