Never set it up yet but I've read into it and use VOIP right now. Aside from not needing it at home, I might just try setting one up at home to see how it works.

asterisk at home is no good... if you do it, use the regular asterisk and config it by hand in the config files.

If you wanna use your own voip device (sip)
you can sign up right this second to our sip gateway
free....

Sign up, it will tell you your registration settings for your device or softphone....
