im kinda non-plussed about 3d porn.. it's got to be REALLY good to be effective.. and given i used to do a bit of 3d.. i contemplated doing up a site a few years ago.. i eventually decided against it as even though i wouldn't have to pay for girls to pose.. the sheer amount of time it would take to create the girls, clothes, poses and whatnot.. in hours of my time.. i could probably hire several girls to do an all week DVDA extravaganza.. all 3d girls you see around in porn kinda suck IMHO.. don't get me wrong.. they're VERY GOOD 3d.. *far* better than i could do thats for sure.... but.. you get that sense that it's trying real hard to be something it's not.... you see.. with anime and hentai.. it's so stylised that you can get into it.. you are drawn into the world... with 3d.. i keep on getting buffered from suspension of disbelief by the fact that you always notice how not like a real girl they are... because 3d is supposed to be realistic.. you look for the faults rather than the immersion.. especially so now that zillion dollar special effects are across every movie screen.. the humble guyt at home doing 3d girls just can't compete with how high the bar has been set for suspension of disbelief with 3d..

that said.. there are blowup doll sex sites.. so.. eh.. of course some people get into it.. but i don't see it as blossoming for a few years yet.. when we get people like those responsible for final fantasy doing it.. then we'll be set...

There is a really weird but logical explanation for 3D/hentai porn. Last year at AWE LA, a lady from (I think cyberotica - forgive me if I'm wrong) spoke about why hentai converts. The same would apply for 3D.

She said that people that buy into hentai or toon porn are usually people that feel that real porn is cheating on their partner. They don't want to cheat by looking at or jerking off to real women, so they look at Toon, or Hentai sex. I know it sounds strange, but it's true. They feel that toon and Hentai is just fantasy. Hey either way they still are paying for it, and so you can still cash in on it.

Try it, run a few galleries, and at the bottom of the galleries, or your sites, just add a link to hentai, or toon, or 3D sex, see how many times it gets hit.

A lot of what you see out there (in fact, pretty much all I've found) is mostly generic Poser stuff which is cool for some but after a while gets kind of boring. Somavision.com has an interesting take on things but it still has that Poser feel to it. The video game world is where you actually see a lot of nice looking 3D babes but unfortunately they're always fully clothed, lol. :1orglaugh

I've been a game developer (Playstation, N64, etc) for the last 8 years and started my own company about three years ago. About 2 months ago we started talking about forming a company within the company to do some adult themed 3D work. We came up with some cool ideas to run with and so far it's been a lot of fun putting everything together. I'm laying the finishing touches on her textures as we speak, and I happened to notice this thread when I took a quick break.

We're a few weeks away from finishing up our first major project under the new company name (ripened peach) and I hope we can fill a little bit of the need for non-Poser style adult 3d. :thumbsup

I think it all started when Tomb Raider was created. "Laura xxxxx" has a cult following and people are trying to cash in on the same idea of making a 3D babe.
