I'm new to the scene and love GFY. Great source for info so here we go:

I know most of you are not lawyers...so I won't hold you accountable if I do end up getting thrown in the pokey...but I'll consider your advice if you would be so kind to offer

I just got hosting with Dreamhost and got my FTP set up and ready to go.

Before! I start uploading my exclusive content...I want to know how to avoid violating the law. The content is not the concern. No funky shit going on over here. I just want to make sure what type of 'Enter' or 'Exit' page I should use to protect myself.

I want to play by the rules (I live in Florida, USA) and hopefully some of you can help.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

take a look around on some adult webmaster resources. there are lots that have plenty of legal advice. CF is one that comes to mind

look up the definition of sexually explicit as defined in "USC 2257" and dont use those types of images, have a warning page, rate your site to prevent minors from accessing them, and you should be fine.

have a disclaimer, use a filtering site so its compliant. try to avoid using anything sexual on the disclaimer page. and follow the legal laws, dont have a site that violates your state law - perhaps a lawyer would be able to educate you on what kind of conten or yes and no. your model release must be solid.
