Dialer vs. Password-by-phone
Historically, the dialer was the solution to monetize your international traffic. Whilst the dialer is dying, the underlying mechanism on which they are based are still alive and kickin? ? pay-per-call billing.
Dialers are blocked or restricted in many profitable key markets ? European media give away dialer blocking software for free. Direct access from dialers also gets blocked my most anti-virus and firewall software which prevents dialer download and activates security warnings on screen ? a real turn off for the turned on surfer! Dialers also have six to eight minutes average holding time - if the surfer is using a slow connection the average hold time is only 2-3 minutes ? all with very low outpayment rates for several key markets. Furthermore, dialers don?t work with DSL, LAN and CABLE surfers ? you lose up to 40% by using them. Because of the ongoing problems associated with dialers, some companies are offering Voice call solutions that require a simultaneous second phone line to be connected to a premium number, as long as the user wants access to the content. However, a dialup user will probably NOT have a required second phone line and in many parts of the world cellphones are on a prepaid service, so premium calls are not possible. You lose up to 80% from these types of prospect users! If the session is terminated at any stage, the time owed is rolled over until the next session. Two minutes before the end of the session, surfers are prompted to buy another password if they wish to continue enjoying the content. PasswordByPhone offers up to four alternative phone numbers to ensure that your user is able to pay you ? unlike dialers, which only offer one. They then promote the phone numbers that have the best profit margins and superior connectivity in bold and eye catching tones. Thus, if the main number is blocked by a local phone company (e.g. because of dialer problems) you can still make money. By giving surfers the opportunity of calling alternative numbers, you are capturing customers who would have otherwise been lost. PasswordByPhone is affiliate friendly in all respects and can be integrated into any programme and is live with both NATS and MPA3. Resellers introducing other webmasters also get paid 10% second tier. Payment from PasswordByPhone is factored and you get paid long before they get paid by the telcos ? every two weeks by wire, check or epassporte ? all with no chargebacks or pending transactions. Yes, if they don't mind the constant warnings every time they connect - if they can connect. PbP employs the same billing as dialers, but with none of the headaches associated with them.

We use Passwordbyphone and were very happy with the extra revenue it creates.
Tried dialers and made $100 a month pathetic, then we tried PBP and PBP outperformed the dialer we used by 20 to 1 easy. Highly recommend them and Emjay & the guys at PBP are very helpful. Cheers Matt |
