Dell Inspiron 9400, who has one, and is your monitor fucked up? (E1705)

I am about to blow a gasket here. Brand new, just out of the box, whites bleed to a dull red color on the monitor. Video and other media plays fine, just the basic windows shit looks like hell.

Anyone else ever have this problem? It has some crazy 256mb video card in it, I forget which one and I am too lazy to look it up. I have already re-installed the drivers to no avail.

I got one a few months ago and it does not have the same problem you describe but it does have the worst screen I have ever seen on a laptop. Dull and lifeless to the extreme. I went back and forth on whether to return it or not but eventually chose to keep it as I got it as a workhorse machine and not for multimedia stuff. I think this will be the last Dell product I buy though. It's a damn expensive unit and I've seen far better screens on $600 laptops.

This is a workhorse machine as well, video editing on the go type of deal. The thing just randomly flickers and there are vertical black one-pixel lines through windows just randomly. Makes white look pink and grey look all nutty.

Frustrating to say the least : /
