my screen is squeaking at me...

no, I haven't squirt my load on it, but it does.
it makes a very high pitch sound, like the ones those funny dog whistles do...(my roomate said he can't hear it and asked me to check if my real mom is a dog) ....anyway when I tilt the screen down with my hand - it stops.
anyone has this? listen to your screen.

i'm not saying my screen is crying or something so don't post me those "happy" pills images again, the sound is real

how long have you been working with computers?

everyone becomes immune to it :winkwink:

Time to get an LCD. :)

CRTs all have a high pitch whine, and LCDs often do when the inverter is getting old and/or failing. I can hear when a TV's turned on thousands of feet away with the volume off. It's just 'normal.' However, since it stops whe nyou tilt it, there may be a slight bit of different weight on the monitor, itself. My TV whined more when I had a speaker sitting on it.

I assume I was born with this ability to immediately identify 'emo,' thus, avoiding it through higher genetics! :thumbsup

I hear the tv high pitch sound with the volume muted too.
there is nothing on the monitor but I placed the monitor is on a pile of books to heighten it a bit. maybe that is it.

turning the volume down wont affect the high pitch whine of a crt as the cathode ray tube is still on :thumbsup
