Review site script needed!
Hey all
We are after a script to run an advanced review site and were wondering if anyone had a fully functioning one they wanted to sell? Happy to pay a fair price to save us the trouble of having one programmed ourselfs. Hit me up at Matt _AT_ wildcash.com if you have anything Cheers Matthew |
Would be interested to see if there is one out of the box available. :)
|
I'm kind of hoping there might be someone who has made an advanced review site that wants some instant cash. If not we'll program one up but be nice is someone is selling a decent one first.

look at this:
www.pornxtop.com I can sell the site and make different templates for it (it is done in smarty). Egomancer |
We days away from Alpha testing ours. www.primepornreviews.com.
It will be up for sale when we have it running. |
Also looking for a review site script.
|
It also has a link-in -link out system - meaning that based on a tracking ID of the sender of the traffic it will redirect the out traffic using some particular affiliate ID's. I do not know if I explained the idea right but I hope you get it.

It will allow affiliates to send traffic to it and pass thru their reseller codes from different programs |
Paul you need banners or something on your 404 http://www.paulmarkham.com/aff
Is that site wide? You are leaving money on the table |
We have had a script mada a while ago. Our programmer is willing to make it user-friendly and write readme/install instructions if enough people are interested.
Please post if you are interested and how much you would be willing to pay, so I can show him that there is enough interest in it for him to put it up for sale. Maybe if there are any features missing that you would like to see you can also post that. The script currenlty has the following: CMS area Reviewers can login to add/edit their reviews Admin can login to add/edit/disable/elable all reviews Add/Edit review Site name Site tag Site URL Site Slogan Linkcode Enable/Disable Category (select one or add one if it doesn't exist yet) Review Rating (give 1/10 ratings for navigation, speed, content, design, updates, etc, etc.) Pros & Cons (abiliaty to enter up to 5 pros and 5 cons) Bottom Line (a one liner with your final judgement of the site) Prices (5 otpions, for example Description: 3 day trial. Price: 2.95) Images (abilaity to upload a screenshot of the site + 3 screenshots of the members areas) Extra URL (can be used for anything, for example a link to a sample gallery). Search Engine Friendly Links are like http://www.reviewdomain.com/paysitename/ and http://www.reviewdomain.com/category/ and http://www.reviewdomain.com/in/affiliateid/ Affiliate Area Affiliates can create an account where they can fill out all their linkcodes for each site in the review database. They can than link to http://www.reviewdomain.com/in/affiliateid/. This will add a cookie so that their own linkcodes are displayed at all the reviews. (You can also set a percentage to for example 10%, so that 10% of the affiliate traffic goes to your own linkcodes, to pay for bandwith etc.). Very easy to integrate with any layout (php). You just use tags like Code:
<a href="<?=$siteurl?>"><?=$sitename?></a> Rating: <?=$rating?> You can use simple tags to show anything you need. For example on the main page you want to show all the available categories, you just add $categorys, and if you want to show a screenshot of the site, with a short part of the review next to it you just add something like $mainthumb and $sitename $siteslogan $sitereviewshort (you can set how long it should be)... /$sitetag/ (link to the full review) etc. You can set how many reviews it should display, how they should be sorted etc. |

There is an out-of-the-box script that I bought for a niche/fetish review site. It had to have my programmer do some custom work but it's an awesome script for the price.
The one that runs my main review site was custom done and I'd be willing to sell a copy but Konda's script sounds like it would beat mine :) |

Ok,
just talked to Rabbit on ICQ and I will remove the descriptions (they were put there more as a test and/or demo). When we created the site we wrote a script that harvested all the descriptions from that site (rabbitreviews) and another site. When one of my programmers will have some free time I will write a script to generate some unique description based on the harvested ones. If anyone is interested in such a script please let me know. I found out that the writers charge 1-5$ for a modified description. Meaning between 2000 and 10000$ for 2000 descriptions. If I make that script...then we can talk business. To sum things up: yes the reviews on the site are taken from Rabbit reviews, they will be removed, rabbit has my deepest appologisez and if you are interested in a script to generate reviews please let me know. They have not been copied and pasted - they have been harvested - meaning that we wrote a spider that crawled the site and got all the reviews. Thank you! Egomancer |
the images you have on the category pages- those have to be removed as well
|
Soooo, what was the other site you harvested from?
Honestly, that's fucked up. I thought it seemed like Rabbit's site with a different skin. Quote:
|
HUH? Were you planning on selling the site with Rabbit's pics and reviews in it?
Quote:

No,
I was planning (and I am still planning) to sell the script of the site (that does not include the current design and the reviews from rabbit). My site is striking similar with the one Konda has - it basically has the same features. Also if there is a request I will write a script that generates descriptions based on some templates - this way I can generate the 2000-4000 reviews needed for such a site in a matter of minutes. Before you say that it can not be done I will tell you that this is possible - we made someting similar for another project. I do not know what is the other site because I told the programmer to harvest 2-3 review sites, and I do not know which one he chose - I will ask tomorrow when I go to work. Egomancer |

this thread turned out fun lol

oh and rabbit
have him pay for this fuck up i wouldnt accept a lousy "sorry" as an apology |
NO rabbit, I will write my own pieces of text because those that you have are not good for that. I just wanted to see how they are done and see what they have in.
As I said I am still thinking how to make them - I will come to a solution this week I hope. To FreeHugeMovies - what is your problem? DO you fear competition? You can write a review by hand or you can generate it, I prefer to generate it because it is simpler and this is evolution. Just relax, I won't use your reviews, I have no need for that, as I said I will generate my own ones. Like 1000 per day... If this script will work then you are obsolete... Egomancer To free |

Oh yeah harvesting text and then placing it on your own site is better then copy/pasting it. Damn are you really THAT stupid? And your 'new' script will harvest, and then 'change' a few textlines to make the description unique. Damn are you even for real? |
I doubt he will be obsolete and to say that is childish. Hand written reviews will always be better quality than some harvested shit you might come up with. Reviews sites have become the new tgp and it figures someone would come up with some shit to cut corners and make a buck instead of being honest in your reviews. Oh wait, what reviews? You are not actually doing them.

Lol,
if it would be so simple everyone would have done it until now ;). The script I am going to make just will take the marks for each characteristic and based on those marks will generate the review. This way the review actually will reflect the quality of the site. I will get written the pieces of text accordingly because you need to take in acount the niche the site is in and so on. Different niches need different texts. Basically you will have a collection of pieces of text that will generate the review using a pseudorandom alghorithm. I estimate that with a collection of texts tyou can generate like 10^12 unique reviews (more than the total no of sites currently on the internet). Egomancerf |

That would still be fucking theft imo. Owners of review sites are paying up to $35 per exclusive review and this moron would harvest 1000's of reviews and mix up some words? |
My problem is. You are stealing text and putting it on your own site. That is my problem.

Mr Pinks,
From time to time I receive reviews and people ask me if I want to buy them. 90% of them are pathetic, I mean seriously a half assed script could do them better. When you start showing the reviewers that they repeat I get answers like this: It's the 10th lesbian site review I make today, it is normal that things repeat. NO THANK YOU! I do not want that. Also the literary quality of the average review is awful. Now, I do not require a masterpiece, but fuck, those reviews need to sell, and they don't. Now please contradict me if I am not right. Last factor: the cost. A good review is like 10-20$. If you have like 2000 reviews to make this costs you between 20k and 40k. In other words the salary of a decent programmer for half a year. MOre than that, supposing that you are stupid enough to pay 20k for all the reviews it will take like 200 days (6 months) to get all of them done. Do you still follow me? What if we have a script that based on what input texts you use for generate it makes those 2000 UNIQUE and good quality reviews in like 2 minutes? You can choose to spend 20k to get high quality reviews (they will be better than the generated ones - I know that) or invest 1-2k in a script that generates them (which I plan to do). I say that my solution is better. Egomancer |
About steeling text and using it on my site that is not true. Those texts were put there as a test and they will be removed tomorrow my morning. This is the reason why the site had 0 promotion - I did not want to earn money from the work of someone else because it was IP stealing.
I do see that you are bitter when you see that the tens of k's of USD you invested in something are used by someone else but I assure you that this is not the case. Egomancer |
Listen (or rather, read), it's very simple. Lookup the word plagiarism. If you are using any other person's work to 'generate' your own as you said, if you do not reference back to the original work (as in tell the readers where the original work is located and who wrote it) then this is plagiarizing. It is that simple.
Even if you do not take a sentence directly but paraphrase it to make it read differently but the meaning is the same, you still need to reference the work to used. You admit harvesting data from another sites and you apologized for that. Fine, that is cool. But saying you are still using those data to generate your own data shows how ignorant you are. |
Quote:
This is what I try to explain in the last 10 posts: I am NOT going to use the data from other sites to generate the reviews because I need it in another format. I wanted to have all those reviews to see the rules. When you write a letter you have a certain format for it as: the beggining, the content and the end, eventually the postscriptum. The same rules apply for the reviews and you can not formalize the rule if you have only one sample. I hope that things are clear now. Egomancer |
Okay, but a few posts up you said:
When one of my programmers will have some free time I will write a script to generate some unique description based on the harvested ones....... |
'based on the harvested ones' means based on the format rules we got from the harvested reviews.
As an example, the standard review is made by 5 main parts: the introduction, the content description, the advantage description, the price description, the conclusion. This is one format and you can have multiple ones. I will write like 10 introductions (not taken from any site, just written by me), 10 content descriptions, 5 advantage description and so on. The content will be original (as it is written by me) and using this I can generate like 10000 reviews using only 5 parts. This is a very simplist description of the system. The good think is that you can use the parts for different formats. Egomancer |
I just hit 900 posts BTW ;)

I must be really stupid to have spent money on my review site, huh? Then Rabbit and The Best Porn must be pretty stupid too, huh? Nothing you can say can justify theft. If you think you're safe from DMCA because you live outside the USA, think again since you host in the USA. |
