What kind of money is your blog making?
 

Today must be blog day with all of the blog talk going on, but I've been curious lately just how much money can be made from a blog and what the "average" is. I've started working on my blog recently and have no idea what to expect or shoot for.

What kind of numbers are you guys seeing for a regularly updated blog? Couple sales a month? A week? A day?

I really haven't the slightest idea.

It all depends on how much traffic you generate and the CTR and signup right.

What you should be asking are those questions.

I can make 10 sales a month on 50k views daily while someone makes 5 sales a month on 1k views daily.

Why would it be a joke? People post what kind of numbers they do all the time. I'm not looking for exact numbers and exact addresses and exact traffic sources... ballpark figures. Guesses. Leads. Directions. Ideas. Goals.

Probably a couple grand a month . . . but I haven't touched any of them in over a year.

Oh myyyyy God so when somebody says "hey, is XXX traffic source worth purchasing?" and people reply back "no, it sucks, don't buy it" then that person must obviously be an idiot for asking a question!

Yes. Its true. Some people can't make jack shit. We know this. Other people make bank. We know this too. Then there's the middleground where a lot of people sit. Thats what I'm wondering.

This question can be answered regarding paysites, galleries, TGPs, free sites, PPC, domains, AVS, AEN's... but oh, there isn't an answer with blogs! Oh my God!

I run 3 small blogs - they avg around 1k/day. Mostly linklist/toplist and se traffic. I only update them when im bored which is around 2 - 3 times a week. I avg anywhere from 2 -5 sales a week.

I make an average of 100.00 a day but it took me like 7 months of constant daily updates(4 to 6 a day). My blogs use to be extra money but now it is part of my overall income.

Everytime blogs are mentioned you mention mine, do you have a problem with my blog ?

Hmm, seriously though with one of my blogs that gets roughly 1000 uniques/day i'm pulling about 10 sales/month. Hmm, guess i should start promoting it a bit more come to think of it. ;D

You are right. There is no "average". But you can always give an idea with information backing up the idea.

If somebody asked me what a dinner would cost in San Diego it would be a fairly difficult question to answer straight because there are many different variables. So here's how I would reply... "If you're looking for some good but fast Mexican, go to a taco shop and get a burrito for $3. If you want some good restaurant style Mexican, there are quite a few places in Old Town you can check out. Depending on what you want, we're probably talking $15-25. Or if you want a nice steak I know of a great place that has a great meal for $30."

See. That is how you answer a question. You offer options, like many people here have. If somebody asks me for a hosting solution, I give them several different offers based on our popular packages.

I have 23 blogs, and don't use one single of them to sell anything directly on the site...wierd huh?

i think a small blog (means <1k UIPs day) would make max 5 sales a week at the beginning.. small blogs will grow thats the point ;)

at 2k/day front page semi-niched strickly blog/se traffic 1 sale a day would be easy.

By regular, you don't mean once a year, do you? Because if so I'm regular.

I have about a dozen and most of them are only a month or so old. I make about two sales a week from each of them at the moment. Except for a couple fetish ones where I have really targeted a specific audience where I am making more sales than that.

I am still figuring out what sells on my blogs so I am not upset that I am not making millions of them or anything. My newer blogs are making more than the ones I did at first which atleast suggests I am learning something as I go.

i just started another squirting blog, my last one made 1500-2000$ a month in sales

My Fleshlight blog does pretty good, assuming I am getting there only about .5K traffic daily, but mainy Search engines... I can easly make a sale per week with it, if regulary updated more than that for sure ;)

My blogs make a few sales here and there nothing great... I do much better with galleries. I made around $420 with my Raven Riley blog this month, that sucks considering I have very good SE placements for my blog... All my money is in galleries.

I forgot to say, I only update my blog like once a week, sometimes even longer. It's at the point where I don't do anything with it, but it still has bookmarkers, people come back everyday. They just like to leave comments and talk shit to each other (like a bbs) and I get sales from the FHG's and links I got on there. That's about it.

No, it's not bad at all... It's all google traffic. I'm listed high for a popular search term, there's a lot of immature people who visit my blog and they just talk shit to each other all day :helpme So a lot of it is junk traffic, but I get sales from the hosted gals and links I put on there...

It doesn't suck suck, but it's worse than I do with galleries. It's probably because I have so much free content on my blog so it's harder to persuade the surfer to buy, but I can be very persuasive I think... I like to tell stories and make up stuff... sometimes I get bored and start talking about my own life, like what I ate, what concerts I went to, and my workout regimen.. seriously...

It's fun cause the blog actually gets visitors so I feel semi-important when people read my crazy rants and raves..... :1orglaugh
