short answer is lots. depends what exactly you want to do but i used to work with some pretty major poker sites so i have an idea of what worked and what didn't.

You know the old addage: "If you have to ask ..."

madawgz 05-13-2006 10:53 PM

it would cost 10-15000$ for the program, hosting wouldnt cost alot

main costs would be online support

if only it were that simple you could just outsource support to durkastan and run a poker site off your allowance. advertising / marketing is the mother fucker. $15k doesnt sound reasonable for software either but things may have changed (a lot) since i was involved in that stuff.

when you get it online, let me know i will gamble there :winkwink:

It isn't reasonable for the software, AFAIK -- last one we did was $50k software, and quadruple that for marketing ...

... I still have the company's contact info if anyone needs to put up a casino.

The profits once those things are up and running must be unreal...

I was reading on a board a company had one for $9900

Jman 05-14-2006 07:18 AM

Go to the traqde show held in Montreal this week. It's the best place to learn and only $900 Investment

main costs would be where are you going to get the fucking funding...

unless you have 200k lying around don't even try it. And even then you still won't be able to compete. I wouldn't try it unless I had 2 Million to flush down a toilet.

50k-100k in software development.
500k in marketing.
100k for a decent brandable domain name.
A million to put up and have there just in case...for payouts. Though your ratios and percentages should take care of this....all Casinos eventually turn a profit.

And I think my numbers are conservative.

i think ur numbers are for a big investment.

i am sure there are some that have started less.. might not be partypoker stats but makes decent.
