Lazy people never make $

i'm looking at a bunch of blogs and jesus....it looks like people build them, make daily posts for a week and forget about them. That might explain why so many people bitch about not being able to grow their blogs. It takes time and dedication to grow blogs ladies.

So my question to you is: Do you build and forget?

StickyGreen 05-13-2006 09:35 PM

gotta go out and get it...

Mr.Right - Banned For Life 05-13-2006 09:37 PM

I have always wondered that myself, there are blogs that i read when they come out and then nothing for months.

mechanicvirus 05-13-2006 09:39 PM

Does my update every 2 days on TWND blog count as lazy? :(

xclusive 05-13-2006 09:42 PM

Yup -- I let AutoBlogger Pro do the updates for me.

mechanicvirus 05-13-2006 09:48 PM

When I get my checks i'm always in an updating mood :)

Sosa 05-13-2006 09:48 PM

I usually update my adult ones 3x / week. Mainstream ones are usually atleast once a day.

Sparks 05-13-2006 09:50 PM

I gotta say I don't know SHIT about blogs. Kind of want to get into it, but not really sure where to start.

Paul Markham 05-13-2006 09:54 PM

For anything to work you have to plan, organise and stick to them both.

I'm easily side tracked, but I make myself a list of things to so and I check the list and tick off itens as completed.

Problem here could be people thinking a single thing will change their lives in an instant. A blog needs feeding.

topnotchxxx 05-13-2006 09:55 PM

Well, I sold off my blog recently. It was not so much about being lazy but being over-committed. Blog requires daily attention and you need to be eloquent in what you write and sometimes it is just too easy to get side-tracked or get that mental block. I am not very good with flowery words.

The trouble was that I was so into the websites scene (both adult and mainstream) and got my hands in too many cookie jars, now I need to know what I have time for and what I don't.

MattO 05-13-2006 10:02 PM

I'm lazy so I don't even bother maintaining a blog. I build and forget sites that are made to built and forgotten.

georgeyw 05-13-2006 10:04 PM

it depends what you want out of it - $ of course but at the same time once a blog is up and running and indexed in se's then it can keep cruising along with a decent amount of traffic with little updates...

I usually get bored with blogs and then get back to them and update in advance etc...

madawgz 05-13-2006 10:08 PM

blogs are still popular? :winkwink:

amateurcanada 05-13-2006 10:12 PM

your sig disturbs me lol

nah, I'm talking about the blogs that NEVER update. I mean how hard is it to sit down for a few hours an rip out a months worth of posts? I do it. Except on a few sites that I enjoy updating.

xLaborJames 05-13-2006 10:54 PM

Whenever I build a new blog I try to do the posts ahead of time and just schedule a day each month to attend to that blogs postings.

spacedog 05-13-2006 10:57 PM

I find that I only update the ones that get any traffic..

SmutGiant 05-13-2006 11:31 PM

I don't think I could stick to updating a blog daily... never attempted to so far... if anything I might set up a personal blog in the future with weekly updates... not sure if my life is exciting enough atm to warrant weekly updates though lol...

if you don't update how do you expect to grow a blog? then won't all of them fall into the "don't get traffic" category eventually?

adonthenet 05-13-2006 11:50 PM

sometimes :(

Makingcoin 05-14-2006 12:10 AM

I have done this a few times :(

I've built a bunch of them and somewhat forgotton them.. Mainly because i don't like wordpress and the way it's set up. Takes way too long to update a bunch of sites. So I've kinda left all my blogs alone until I decide how I want to set them up.

I've actually changed one of them to more of a TGP format but it's no skim, seems like it's doing ok.

Lance69 05-14-2006 03:24 PM

No doubt, I've only got like 3 sites, you'd think I'd update them more. Thanks for the virtual kick in the pants...

tenderobject 05-14-2006 03:30 PM

im guilty :(

well im still planning on my site.. still thinking of good stuff to add. might be fully done soon! still my blog needs really a lot of work especially when updating. if you can see :)

bdld 05-14-2006 04:14 PM

i dont know about "lazy" people not making any money, i'd say people who aren't smart + ambitious dont make any money

nico-t 05-14-2006 04:24 PM

all my blogs are updated regularly... my oldest blog gets updated 4 times a day
