is it possible to get a safe 7-10% return on your money?
I have most of my money in a money market fund getting 3.75% the rest is in real estate and gold. Im pretty young so i should probably be taking more risks but i worked hard to get what i got so i don't want to lose it.
Anyone here getting a safe 7-10% return on your money? If so what are you doing? Thanks! |
i bet youd make more gambling :) its really stable :thumbsup

With the current inflation rate, maybe you should think about taking bigger risks.

Annual returns between 8-13%, depending on current market pricing. And dividends are paid monthly.

Look into insured city bonds.
Edit I forgot, do not just pay attention to the percentage yield, look at the tax advantages as well. |
There are some tax free bonds going for 6.5% - 8.5% !

buy some index funds, sp500 for example, spy or ivv

if you want to keep some cash in a risk free savings account, insured by the FDIC, I would recommend www.HSBCDirect.com - 4.5% APY
|
INGDirect is another choice. I think they're roughly competitive with HSBC. Both are multinational, gigantic banks that invest funds outside the US where returns are much greater.
I've been with INGDirect for about 6 months, and they've raised the interest rate they're paying me 3 times. And absolutely no fees, everything is linked to your checking account at whatever bank you use for regular transactions. |
