$5 gallon gasoline is bullshit because....

.....If this story is even half true, then a lot of what's going on in the world today is based on some pretty big bullshit. Imagine coast to coast and back on ONE gallon of gasoline.

British Inventor Unveils 8000 MPG Car

London, England (AHN)?A British inventor unveils the world's most fuel-efficient vehicle, a three-wheel ?TeamGreen? car capable of doing 8,000 miles to the gallon.

The 45-year-old inventor, Andy Green, from the University of Bath, built his budget eco-motor for just £2,000, and will be the sole British contender for the title of the world's most fuel-economic car in a global competition being held later this month.

It has taken Mr. Green more than two years to design and build the car, which will be the fourth eco-vehicle he has built. He holds the British record for fuel-efficiency, with 6,603 miles to the gallon in a previous car.

According to the report, the new vehicle is powered by a single cylinder four-stroke engine with a capacity of just 35cc and runs with a special management system incorporating fuel injection.

A spokesman for Bath University says, "Andy Green is keeping the spirit of the lone British inventor who takes on the world very much alive." http://www.allheadlinenews.com/articles/7003538016

Wow! That would be a hell of a lot better than the 12-14mpg my truck gets.

Evil1 05-12-2006 10:45 PM

test the theory out, lawn mowers are about 35 cc, dump a gallon in one and see if you can mow 8000 miles of grass.

gas prices are going insane

tony286 05-12-2006 10:51 PM

actually they are coming down alittle bit ,I feel like its a game they play. Prices go up everyone starts talking about alternative fuels. Then the price starts to go down, then the talk starts to cool down.

Hybrids are looking great

spunkmaster 05-13-2006 12:23 AM

It takes more energy to produce a Hybrid and run it for 5 years then a Ford F150 !

I was listening to a guy on the radio last week who said he invented a way to dip all the engine parts in liquid nitro and it reduces the friction in the engine and makes them get 150 miles per gallon ?

Engine and Transmission

It is important that the engine converts the energy from the petrol as efficiently as possible into energy to drive the vehicle forwards. To this end the engine has been designed and built virtually from scratch, very few components have been taken from existing engines.

The engine has a 34 cc single cylinder and it operates with a normal 4-stroke cycle. It uses standard unleaded petrol supplied by Shell. It has 2 spark plugs, variable inlet valve timing and fuel injection.

The ignition and fuel injection are controlled by an Engine Management system provided by GEMS (General Engine Management Systems Ltd) . This is able to keep the engine working most efficiently.

The drive from the engine is taken via a centrifugal clutch and chain drive system to the rear wheel.
