so i noticed some call mexican illegals in the US wetbacks... whats the meaning of the word, i mean why 'wetback'
i was just wondering this

Also wet back. A slang term for those of Mexican heritage, especially illegal aliens. This slur stems from the fact that illegal Mexicans usually swim rivers to cross into other countries, hence the term wet back.

Those wetbacks are mowing my lawn.

Because they are known for swimming into the country in addition to other modes of illegal entry. And its not a "slur".

Hmm didnt know that. Always assumed it was cause you see so many of them bent over back to the sky picking veggies. Thus the term came from the sweat stains.
