Who will win American Inventor?

Who would you vote for?

1) First contestant has an original invention but it's limited to football players

2) The second contestant's bike add-on would be fun for all bike riders. It's limited to the the bike itself and can't be fitted on current bikes.

3) The third contestant has a neat game, but I wouldn't call a new game a genuine invention per se.

4) The fourth contestant has a prototype of a seat that will protect children from getting killed in car accidents. It needs more safety testing to prove it will work and is not yet certain if it can fit in most cars to be used in mass consumption

Also, is American Inventor the only franchise of its kind thss far or is there also a British Inventor, Australian Inventor, and so on just like the Idol franchise?

I think I would vote for the number 4 because I want the kids are protected during car accidents.

I Invented The American Inventor.

I'm thinking the car seat or the word game will win, I don't think the others have any chance of winning at all.

It's a spin-off of Idol produced by Simon.

My take on the whole show:
1.) Yup... Limited to the 'sports' niche. (Kinda like when I submit a free DP site into 'group' when I should have put it into the 'anal' category... Duh! ;-)

2.) From ghetto to glory... Ironically, none of the kids from poor neighborhoods forced to ride on handlebars could afford this bike... but DAMN what a prototype they made!

3.) Probably the winner. Sad that it is not a 'new' invention... Just a 'new' game. The game looks O.K. (not great) but the commercial ROCKED (Made me want to buy one ;-)

4.) Unless you want to burn in hell forever... This guy SHOULD win! (I voted for #3 ;-) The idea is pretty sound... SO WHAT if it doesn't fit in a car (yet)... For now ~ They should make seats like this on airplanes and make the airplanes out of whatever the 'black box' in the cock pit is made of.

Final thought: Since the show is entitled: 'American Inventor'...
If either #1 or #3 win... Can their inventions be 'outsourced' to #2 or #4?

the British version of this (lions den) was fun..I hope they show the American version over here

I agree with you that #4 is the most important invention. The bike is amazing, but you're right, it won't be affordable to many kids who would use it. The commercial for the game was brilliant and it made me want to buy one too, lol. I don't know much about the game but it seems just a spinoff off "Hangman" or Wheel of Fortune type thing. It's just a word guessing fill-in-the-blank game.

Do many people still play such games? If so, it could be in every household. I personally haven't played board games and such having grown up in the video game era. So I guess my vote would go for #4 for the child seat.

easily the car seat should win although every school in america should buy the game for every class starting with 3rd grade

Choppa 05-12-2006 05:49 AM

4 :thumbsup

With regard to the car seat invention. Isn't there already a child seat available? I know the inventor's child died in a car accident. Was he using one of the current child seats at the time? Did it fail? I don't remember the details from that episode.

Tom_PM 05-12-2006 06:27 AM

I dont like any of the finalists ideas frankly. I imagine the freaky carseat would win because not every child plays football, not everyone cares about another electronic game, not everyone rides (or can afford) a fancy bike, but everyone is a baby at some point.

Until she got kicked off, I would have voted for the womans bathroom stall invention. Simple idea, serves an (apparent) need, costs pennies to produce.

Bansheelinks 05-12-2006 06:55 AM

the anica child car seat will win, and should win.

its a new type of seat, and its ingenious; once its tweaked and modified, it will take over the market instead of those cumbersome child seats they have now.
