WTF is going on with Cologroup?

The past 3 days with Virtual Hosting have been HORRIBLE.

Can't transfer with FTP because I get LIST Command errors.
the list command in ftp failed.
"550 cannot create data connection"
!Retrieve of folder listing failed(0)

The images are not loading properly on my pages, or I get blank pages.

The e-mail is down.

Am I the only one having these problems?

I talked with Jason, telling me they are working on the servers. 3 days ago he told me it was fixed.

Now 3 days later.. nothing is fixed.

I am usually very patient, but now I am fucking

It's REALLY annoying especially when you just bought TGP advertising.

Please Cologroup : If you have problems, inform your customers. Leaving them in limbo is not a good idea.

Talk to Jason again. I had a nice long phone conversation with him the other day.

Are you talking about dedicated or virtual hosting?

What's making me mad is that I have to find out what is going on. I have better things to do than having phone calls with support. There is nothing more frustratring than this. An e-mail would be the minimum from them.

So let me get this straight... you have better things to do then calling support but you'll take the time to complain about them on a public forum when you haven't even talked to them?

I have a dedicated box with cologoup, Jason and his support staff have been top notch in getting all my questions and requests handled.
Thanks Jason and crew :thumbsup

... if I was an ISP, I would never ever sell virtual hosting ... because those are the ones paying minor money and causing major trouble ...

I agree. I think virtual hosting is probably more trouble than its worth. You have all these people using piddly amounts of traffic, they take up all your time and they want the same support as customers with dedicated boxes pushing HUGE amounts of traffic.

I talked to them. It was supposed to be fixed. I'd rather know that there is a problem and that it's going to take longer than to bullshit me.

I am sure they are doing their best, but what I meant is that I HATE to have to find out what is going on by myself that they are working on the servers. An e-mail from them advising there might be some problems soon would be a wise move.

It's not my job to find out about these things.

I have a virtual with cologroup and I really like it. They seem pretty cool to me and the support is good. Seems like somebody is always on icq. I don't understand what all the bitching is about. You have to understand you're on a virtual account and it's shared with other people. :GFYBand

I understand where you are coming from No Carrier. The virtual hosting has not been at the level it should be, but we are working on a solution. The imediate solution as I mentioned before has been to add additional servers for balancing and we've done that. It is running smoothly today.

We'll keep adding servers for virtual hosting as we do appreciate your business and want you to be satisfied with the service.

I tested them with a virtual account. Took about a week or so to get 1 of 4 domains working :)

So far it seems ok. I was planning on doing a dedicated with them soon if they iron out the wringles. 50 cents a gig is cool.

If you have been things to do that call support, might I recommend a company who charges $4-$5 a gig. I am sure they will set you up real nice.

That's not true. I've been with other hosts that charged 4-5$ a gig and the service was crappy. Paying a lot more does not guarantee you will get a better service.

I decided to change host because of the excellent reviews here.

Oh well, so far like Jason said, it's very smooth today. Let's hope it will continue.

LOL, I remember I once bought 12 AA batteries in a dollar store (all 12 cost $1) and as soon as I put them in my CD player, it already showed that the battery is low, lol. It lasted for 30 mins of play time.

Budget prices don't necessarily mean budget support and performance ... always depends on who you host with :smokin
