According to the define function in google:

"Blog is short for weblog. A weblog is a journal (or newsletter) that is frequently updated and intended for general public consumption. Blogs generally represent the personality of the author or the Web site."

But they can be used for anything really. I've used them for many different things in the past. For new not yet branded adult websites, they are great. You can get multiple free blogs at http://www.thumblogger.com , it's a free blog hosting service that exists for over 1,5 years and is used by many adult webmasters. It is packed with all the features you could ever wish for. I would advice to just try it, you won't be disappointed :pimp

Of course you can also get your own hosting, put wordpress on it and get blogging, but you are free to add a couple thumblogger blogs to your blog network.
