Eh lets see how badly I get raked over the coals for this one... I've been in the biz since the old dialup BBS days back in 89 and I have just dedicated one of my servers (a Compaq DL320 1U) entirely for free hosting. I'm an ex unix administrator for one of the top 2 (sustained) IT outsourcing companies and have a strong unix admin background.

What I'm looking for now are a few sweethearts to sign up for my free hosting; or even just take a look at it and let me know some feedback. It'd be greatly appreciated.

Could make the menu a little sharper, looks too blurred and beastiality is spelled beastality in the rooles section... just litlle things... overall looks good, I like the option to use own domains.

Thanks Lexxx I made the spelling change and added a slight black glow to the letters so there is more contrast. I had been meaning to change that, but you know how it is when you see something often enough you forget how it looked the first time you saw it.

Yeah I think people will like the idea of using their own domain as well. I need to clarify that their web site would be theirdomain.com and not theirdomain.com/members/user too. Eh, something for the FAQ tomorrow. I'd like to eventually give the people that I host their domain SSH access, but that's going to require a few more security scripts to write.

No they are all hand made scripts. I grabbed that HTML snipped of code fro mhome free for the pretty HTML form and table window. I hate tables.

What the hell are the laws on this in the US anyhow? I mean most free hosts don't allow it, of course not out of good judgement and taste. But I have yet to read a federal law regarding it (not that I read federal laws as a hobby anyhow).

I'm not involved in that shit but as far as I know the laws pertaining to it vary from state to state. I remember someone telling me that there were no laws on the book in Vermont for it. In Canada there is a federal law against it.

That would make sense if it were a state to state law. Although I am far from a lawyer it seems to me things that are subjective to bad taste by some are determined by the state (e.g. prostitution, gambling, etc.).
