I would pay dues. Who will take my $$
I'm not really anybody in this biz... just another webmaster. But I've been at it for six years earning a good living and keeping my family comfortable. I pay an accountant to do my taxes, I pay a lawyer (a friend) for legal advice, and I occasionally donate to the FSC. Who can I pay for REAL representation in online adult? Who can create enough of a member base to make a real difference when it comes time to speak for the industry? Who can I pay $20, $40, $60 per month or more to act and speak for a cohesive and organized group of webmasters when challenged by any number of possible attacks?
When the word got out that joining the FSC got you legal representation for 2257 they couldn't even stop to count the money because their phones were ringing off the hook. Where did those webmasters go when it was time to email icann?
Everyone takes the time to criticize webmasters for not coming together, but I think we need someone to carry the unity banner. If the incentive to keep the industry alive isn't motivation enough then I'm willing to bet that membership dues can light a fire under someone's ass to take up the flag and create a solution.
So who wants my cash?
