the other stuff not mentioned is not so important. Like the sound card which is a Turtle Beach Montego DDL connected to my Denon AVR3802 home theatre reciever with an optical audio cable.

Guess I should have put the 19" Samsung SyncMaster 940bf LCD in there

Yngwie 05-10-2006 11:08 AM

as for the software used I use Ulead Media Studio Pro 8. I tried Avid on a friend's PC, but it's a little confusing.

I've got a Dual 2.0 Mac G5 with 2GB of RAM, 250GB Hard Drive with another 250GB external Drive. I use FCP 5 and have a 27" Viewsonic LCD Monitor.

For editing and rendering: Dual core Pentium 4 3800 with Intel motherboard, 2 gigs RAM, bunch of bigassed USB external hard drives, 19" LCD monitor, running Premiere Pro.

For encoding: Athlon 64 3600, 2 gigs RAM, running Sorenson Squeeze 4.1 (4.2 does not run on Athlons for some reason.)

Custom built by me..

AMD 64
LAN Party MoBo
2 GB DDR RAM
2 WD SATA RAPTOR HD's
G-Force 6600 GT, 256 RAM

I use Premiere for editing primarily. Also some Cleaner XL, awesome program btw.

custom built is always the best way to go. The only pre-built computer that I've ever owned was my very first one when I knew absolutely nothing about computers. Everything after that I built myself.

prebuilt editing machines are a ripoff and no bette rif you know what you are doing i guess

we have dual chip intels 3ghz, 2gb ram, asus board and geforce gfx cards
software is Avid Liquid, Pinnacle 10.5 and just installed Premier pro on one machine too

DutchTeenCash 05-12-2006 11:40 AM

p4 nice pc but still... so I went and looked at the Imac they said 3.4x faster bla bla so I rendered a regular vid HD 5 mins fullscreen took 35 fucking mins

NoWhErE 05-12-2006 11:44 AM

I've got a 4.4 ghz dual core processor
4 gigs of Ram
256 SLI vid card
2x500 gb Seagate drives
and a 21 inch flatscreen Dell

I've also got smaller computers for more tedious stuff. I want to build up a render farm soon too for my composite work.

NoWhErE 05-12-2006 11:44 AM

and I haven't mentionned other things like the 36 inch monitor I use to look at my footage or the 2k$ sound system I use to listen to my audio, burners, blah blah blah blah
