Give me a tour of your town and WIN $200 worth of flights from Wishing.com

Summer's coming and I am getting the travel bug. Chances are I won't get to travel too much this summer so I am going to have to get by with a bit of virtual tourism.

So, take me on a visual tour of your town/city. I want to see pictures (you don't have to have taken them) of the landmarks of your town and tell me what there is to do there and why I should want to visit.

At the end of Sunday the one that makes me most want to visit or interested me the most will be the winner.

The prize: Wishing.com will give the winner a $200 Southwest Airlines gift card which should get most people in the States atleast one flight.

So, start giving me those tours and check out Wishing.com where you earn 50% on all sales of our adult and mainstream pill and life enhancement products.

Good luck!

Witches, Pirates & Ghosts--We have that here..
Salem, Massachusetts is full of alot of history going back to the 1600's....

From the witchraft hysteria of the 1600s to the booming seaport full of piracy & grandeur of the sail. to great literature from Nathaniel Hawthorne..

Salem.org
Salemweb.com
Salem Witch Museum
Some pictures of Salem Witch Museum
Peabody Essex Museum is a must see attraction!!!
Festival of the Dead
Salem, Mass.. virtual postcard tour
Pictures of Salem
More great pictures
Salem, Mass-- Wikipedia

Your lodging for the trip should be here :)-- Elizabeth Montgomery stayed here for a few episodes of Bewitched.. the town has even erected a statue in her honor, lol..

Salem Willows Park

Another site of salem attractions

where to eat

Salem State College

Consider coming in October-- It's halloween all month long, & Haunted Happenings makes new orleans Mardi Gra look like small fries if you happen to be there on Halloween night..

There's much more too..
And more from google

And while visiting, you can squeeze in day trips to Essex & Gloucester ar wonderful places to visit, only a few miles north. Also, you would be 17.5 miles north of Boston which also offers alot :)

I could go on & on....

Hey Sweetie-girl Sarah, here's a tour of my immediate world...

Chillin' on the boat:

My cove on the lake:

Sunset from my dock:
http://www.authenticamber.com/sunsetfromdock.jpg

Mountains from the lake.
http://www.authenticamber.com/mountains.jpg

The lake is Smith Mountain Lake, 500 miles of shoreline, in SW VA and it is boarded by the Blue Ride Mountains where the Appalachian trail runs along the top of the mountain ridge (which are more like rolling hills in this part of the world compared to say, Colorado mountains). It's truly beautiful and peaceful here.

Here are some more pics of fun on the lake:

And here's a slew of info about the area:
http://www.south-lake.com

SML is considered VA's "best kept secret"...
:)

nice entry Amber...um that sounds wrong..lol

Chris 05-11-2006 07:41 AM

my entry wasnt taken serious ( but it was :( )

sperbonzo 05-11-2006 07:45 AM

Is there any way that you could make that Continental Airlines instead? I HATE Southwest.

They really really suck.

I think I would rather take a Greyhound bus then Southwest.

WORST AIRLINE EVER.

(sorry, got a little overboard there, but seriously, I fly constantly, and sometimes I have to take southwest in order to get somewhere at a certain time, and they are a horrible airline)

.

Sarah_Jayne 05-11-2006 07:53 AM

Well, i have had good experiences with them and I am one of those fat people they make checkin in a special manner. I am sure if whoever wins doesn't want the flight certificates we can arrange to just have $200 sent but the idea was to beable to just give somebody a chance to get away for the weekend or something. Most people can get a flight somewhere on Southwest for that and their giftcard thing deliverable via email fitted. So, that is the prize. Sorry if it doesn't fit your level of standards.

Calm down Sarah! I wasn't trying to insult anybody here.... No need to get snippy!:winkwink: :upsidedow :)

Ambergirl 05-11-2006 08:00 AM

Right on, Sarah. But I'm not concerned about winning the prize - let someone else win it. I just love where I live and wanted to share. :)

chase 05-11-2006 08:03 AM

oooohhhh, I live in a pretty interesting place, once you get past all the retiree's. Actually, they can be pretty interesting, too.

I'll have an entry this weekend; and you are welcome to come visit me in person to see for yourself. :)

Well, I'd enter, but no one in their right mind would want to visit Cedar Rapids, IA. The only thing going on here is the Quaker Oats Factory, and it looks like crap.

I'm still interested..heck I am from a town called Quakertown so it would be nice to hear about the area that the Oats actually come from. Especially since I spent most of the childhood being asked if Quakertown was where the oats were made.
