You've done it again. You are killing the Star Wars saga. The screenplay is full of lame dialogue and bad jokes. The love story is so bad. We don't believe it at all. There is ABSOLUTELY no chemistry between Portman and Christensen.

Even the awesome special effects can't save this crap script.

OH MY GOD.

LUCAS, GET SOMEONE TO WRITE THE SCRIPT FOR THE LAST ONE. Remember Empire Strikes Back? You are better with special effects than writing. Trust me.

this is exaclty what I was afraid of happening. trying to target the movie for the wrong fucking generation of people who never really known the previous saga at all. try to make it all hip and modern, just like E. I was. it sucked and so probably does E. II.

I agree totally. I just posted in another thread how amazed I was that the characters were written sooooo horribly. How the fuck can you make the almighty Darth Vader a sniveling, whining, punk teenager? I could never see THAT Anakin becoming Darth Vader. He was too much of an idiot.

Yep. :( I was excited a few years ago when I heard there were be more Star Wars movies.

Now I wish he had just left it alone. The first 3 were great. Now he's ruining a piece of my childhood, and it's pissing me off. :mad:

If this were true. Why is Episode II being released in less theatres than Spiderman, cause Lucas only wants it playing in the highest quality of theatres.

Keep in mind that the original Star Wars movies script was pretty bad too. I mean, it's so incredibly cheesy it's GREAT! Plus we were all kids then & loved it!

I'm seein' it tomorrow night...we shall see.

I thought the screenplay was a bit cartoony, the plot and all, and I agree that the love story was weak. Acting was 'ok' i guess.

Still, you aren't supposed to like vader... he is vader remember? He is starting to become the badass from ep 4-6 already. Kind of interesting to see how his history is pushing him toward the dark side.

From cute kid (ep1) to arrogant asshole (ep2), to... episode 3, whatever happens then.

Plus the yoda part rocked, same with all of mace.

I liked it better then ep1.

i just saw it, and i can't believe that they couldn't come up with better actors to play anakin and the senator...those two are so bad, they were actually painful too watch. ian macgregor is awesome though, and of course, yoda.

I can't understand why he was using digital cameras for the movie.

On a big screen you can see the picture isn't clear. There are pixels everywhere because of the bad resolution of the digicams. And you can see a lot of chromatic aberrations.

The fourth Star Wars should have given you a clue to what the fifth was going to be like.

Seems it iis getting worse though.

I really, really enjoyed this movie. More than I expected to. I don't have a problem with the actors, except Anarkin is prety skinny - but, he is a teenager. Didn't notice any pixels, but I didn't notice all the errors in Spiderman. I just went to be entertained, and I was.

George Lucas is a poor director. Recall that he did not direct the most highly esteemed part of the saga -- ep 5 the empirec strikes back.

Valid point. But this also creates hype. How many "Limited Edition" things have you bought, just because it's "Limited Edition".

the the dark undertones in episode II remind me of empire strikes back. i thought anakins char was fucking great...just by the look in his eye you could tell he was about to kill every one of those tuskin raiders....badass shit...bout to go see it again

Lucasfilms and Fox want $$$$. They have STRICT rules if you want the movie :

70% of all ticket revenue for 3 to 4 weeks. (wich is crazy compared to other studios)

And you have to show the movie in your BEST and BIGGEST theatre for at least 2-3 months.

So this means : if you the movie sucks and you have 2-3 people per night in June (wich is EXACTLY what happened for Episode 1 when I was working in theatre), it doesn't matter, you still have to show the movie in your biggest theatre.

So you argument is not valid. Sorry about that. This business is about money. Not like porn, where it is about giving free porn.

I am just going to watch k-pax again and save my money :)

ep 2 kicked ass. finally some all-out jedi fights. and did they mention something about the death star? i missed it. i'm going again...

They took a perfectly good trilogy, and tried to make it a.. uh... sixiligy. Episode one sucked, episode 2 sucks, and the company producing episode 3 might as well cancel funding now.

I think the whole prequal idea was pretty fuckin lame thus locked lucas into something the audience already knows...

they did a lot of the stuff on digital, especially the battle scenes, they used an effect which i have seen in cutscenes for games like C&C, where it tracks something, and then quickly zooms in real fast, a lot of that stuff couldnt be done with a track in real life =/

Oh man it was horrible..

And each actor seemed to strain just to say their lines! Looked like they were constipated..

I also think they tried to throw in too many oddball names for things.. like distance measurements, too many planets, cities, oddball names, etc.. was too confusing and was such a stretch..

They should all win worst actor of the year awards..

it wasn't THAT bad... i thought it kicked ass.

anakin ep 2 is better than anakin ep 1. they better make anakin ep 3 live up to darth vader's name though...
