fuzebox 05-09-2006 12:20 AM

Interesting article. Was it also in the print version or just online?

L-Pink 05-09-2006 12:34 AM

It's true Steve drives a mini-van ..............

THEN: .... exactly 3.6 miles down the road he pulls into a warehouse, the models that were hiding on the floor strip to g-strings .... a uniformed butler hands Steve a drink and asks what color Bentley should be warmed up .....

Cant wait until WSJ writes about me and the millions of $ I am making!
This will probobly happend when next time Satan announces the mandatory snowball fight for his crowd....

munki 05-09-2006 02:07 AM

Very true... Steve is one of the smart ones that realizes wealth is more important than the appearance of wealth.

Lessons to be learned folks.

gangbangjoe 05-09-2006 03:52 AM

way to go imo...

showing your wealth brings more problems then joy...
and i really think he knows how to live and celebrate:)

the part where the neighbours kid's weren't allowed to play with his kids anymore because the parents found out what steve is doing is so fucking wrong.
there is nothing he does wrong

polish_aristocrat 05-09-2006 03:55 AM

not going to read that article, and I think its not entirely true, but even if he was driving just that, then whats wrong with it?

does everyone here have to live a flashy lifestyle?

it is written in a 100% positive way and almost all posters in here say it is the way to go...

Pete-KT 05-09-2006 04:26 AM

Very nice article on him

GTS Mark 05-09-2006 05:10 AM

Warren Buffett drives a 5 year old Lincoln Towncar so a beatup minivan isn't so bad haha ;)

DH

Phoenix 05-09-2006 05:12 AM

cars mean jack shit...the owner of walmart drove around in a beat up ford pickup truck for te longest time...most cars you see on the road that seem nice....they cost that person everything...maybe not in our industry..where some people can actually afford them....im sayingf that most beamers and shit ou see driving around your town...those people go back to piece of shit houses or apartments they rent out of...they are financed up the wazzoo

xenigo 05-09-2006 05:15 AM

Doesn't he drive a Ferrari 360? I swear he made an annoucement maybe a couple years back of buying one.

StuartD 05-09-2006 06:01 AM

Steve's the man.. he knows it, I know it, most everyone else knows it... it doesn't matter what he drives... he'll still be the man.

Drake 05-09-2006 06:04 AM

He lives in a million dollar house I think. I recall him trying to sell it a few years ago. Cars get you to where you want to go. Home is for comfort and real fun.

SteveLightspeed 05-09-2006 10:21 AM

Ok, I admit, I sold my Viper and I'm back to driving my old minivan. But its not really *that* beat up. Its the "Viper of minivans" -- I call it "The Van-Iper"

I think I should get something more like this

it doesn't matter as long as it works

anything more than that is the car companies playing with your ego

Doctor Dre 05-09-2006 10:33 AM

as a broad statement thats generally true, but try getting to a ski hill in a minivan , or try passing on the freeway in a minivan :) there are some things they just dont function very well as :) all im saying is if your gonna be "under the radar" about your money , you might as well drive something that functions/performs well .but gives the same impression of you being an "average shmoe " :) :thumbsup

When you've got kids, a minivan starts to look a lot cooler. :thumbsup Strap the kids in the back, throw an ice chest full of food in the middle and head for the beach. It's a lot harder to do that with a Viper.

fair enough. what would be your recommendation for such drives?

something that runs well, is flexible, but won't get keyed by some jealous idiot?

anything 90's and subaru
They are all 4 wheel drives i think , generally fairly cheap , great on gas and they perform awesome on rugged terrain

Subaru Forester turbo is faster than almost all suv's including the V6 Porsche Cayenne and has more ground clerance than a Ford F150 ..... go figure.

The stunt-plane promotion ? at a Las Vegas convention a few years ago ? cost about $40,000, Mr. Jones said, and earlier this month he sponsored a dodgeball tournament at a gathering in Tempe, Ariz. The bar tab was about $50,000, he said.

I remember this, freakin' hilarious.

I never thought when I saw that clip that I'd be sitting at one of Steve's actual desks. I guess dreams DO come true.

And yes Steve drives a minivan, but he drives it like freakin' Mario Andretti, one year on the way to Vegas I left like a half hour before him and he blew past us in a rented Windstar going like 135 mph.
