Designers: Got a question.
Ok, so when you are designing for other folks, and you get to a point where you are using a photo for a part of the webpage, how do you go about obtaining those pictures? The first option would be to find an adult stock photography website I'm sure. Do you just send the client off to that website to find a picture they like? Maybe you do it yourself and just tack the cost of it onto your bill? What do you think is the best way to take care of that?

the best way imo is to do the whole work considerring design - by myself

Ok, well with the prices you're charging I can see that you can afford it. Right now I'm only charging $25 per blog I'm designing just to get my name out there some more.

The easiest way is to purchase the content yourself so that you may use the licensed photos in your designs over and over again. Paul Markham's content is affordable and of high enough quality that they can be used easily in designs. http://www.bargainbasementcontent.com/
A second option is to have the client find photos from the sponsors they will be promoting and use those in the design. As long as the photos are used to support the sponsors' sites, many are okay with the practice. |
Sponsor are good source...

Well with the issue I ran into, we contacted the sponsor and they said it was ok to use one of their photos, so that's what we did. Once I start actually making decent money off of this, I will probably buy some of my own pictures.
