Hey i still give him props. He has been in the tank for 177 hours and pulled off 7:08 . Cant knock him one bit....

He didn't know if he could do it... it's not like he's stayed under water for a week and then held his breath for 9 minutes every summer since he was a kid.

If he didnt stay in a tank for a week straight, I think he would have gotten 9 minutes. But to stay under water for a week, then try to go 9 and still make 7 was pretty impressive. He used a lot of movement to get that 2nd lock off too. I was very impressed with the attempt and found his street magic to be fun in between.

Now Stuart Scott blows however.

Watching NBA tonight, didnt waste my time with the Blaine thing.

Well is it "magic" or is it the fucking Discovery Channel. If it's the former then do the 9 minutes. If it's the latter then it never would have made it to air.

Live in a fishbowl for 9 days. No real rest, no real food, no anything. Then after 9 days, lock yourself up and try to break the world record for holding your breath.

I'm sure if someone said they were gonna hold their breath for 7 minutes (no world record breaking), it wouldnt have been a 2 hour special on TV.

Ya, great, 7 mins is alot... but a 2 hour special which turned out to only be about a dude sitting in a human fishtank??? fuck that.

After seeing this, I think the guy who does hold the world record deserves a 4 hour special!

Ah, but sitting in that fishbowl for a week WAS a world record. And by his accounts, he has held his breath for longer than the world record of 8:58, it just wasn't done immediately following the breaking of another world record such as standing in water for 7 days.

Hell fell short of his goal, but what he did was still pretty amazing to a lot of people, even if you don't think so.

I think more people will talk about how he failed than how he succeeded. I think this will show that he's human and can make mistakes.

He will most likely be more popular than ever after this.

Would have been better if he just broke the record under normal conditions. Risking nerve damage and other complications from living in a fish bowl for a week is ridiculous.
