I am going to SUE ICANN...

If this .xxx thing flies and anyone registers my domains before I have the opportunity to do so.

I will leave up my .coms until I have exhausted every possible court and I will also have restraining orders put up against icann to ensure my domains resolve until I am done.

Any chance that they would try to make an extention for gambling if the .xxx goes through? I sure hope not, as I see it - the .xxx is a very bad idea.

It would be detrimental if another party got ahold of your domain in .xxx, especially when VISA decides your domain has to be .xxx to be processed :Oh crap

Suspect ICANN will have long gone before that day comes.

The US agreed to hand over the responsibilities of ICANN by August 2006 to an international authority where all countries with .TLD's would have representation. As is custom, this agreement is going to be broken - what's new?

The reasons given by a US admin mouth were..

"Given the internet's importance to the world's economy, it is essential that the underlying DNS of the internet remain stable and secure.

As such, the US is committed to taking no action that would have the potential to adversely impact the effective and efficient operation of the DNS, and will therefore maintain its historic role in authorising changes or modifications to the authoritative root zone file."

Considering the current administration's management of almost all other aspects of life, it's even more absurd to consider they are capable of any stability or security of DNS management.

As one representative said..

"On Internet governance, three words tend to come to mind: lack of legitimacy. In our digital world, only one nation decides for all of us."

Obviously this is ongoing and ICANN is a dead parrott and not legitimate.

they cant force us to switch over... switch your .com outside the US

With 60-70$ a domain name they'll have enough cash flow to eat anyone alive for the next 500 years.

Giving up control of the root DNS system would be stupid as all fuck for the US! Why in the fuck would we do that?

On a similar note we should have taken the oil in the Middle East... I doubt Al Quada (sp? like I give a fuck how to spell it) could have pulled off 9-11 if the camel jockeys were all working in oil fields instead of owning them...

Why is the world so fucking stupid today? I dunno... You are all sheep if you think you can trust the root DNS to an international commitee.

XPays 05-08-2006 04:42 PM

so you think icann will be the registrant that squats on your domains? your logic is flawed.

XPays 05-08-2006 04:47 PM

and i just searched tess at uspto.gov and you have no pending or registered trademarks.

i'm all stocked up on bullshit for today thanks to this thread :1orglaugh

teksonline 05-08-2006 04:54 PM

my .xxx will redirect to .com

minusonebit 05-08-2006 04:59 PM

Hey, dont forget to sue NeuStar. I am sure they have some hand in this too. They deserve it much more than ICANN, goddamnit I hate them.

List the domains you dont want people to register in this thread, so people can know to stay away. You can trust us.

"register my names" pfff give me a break , .xxx is just like , net.org, .co.uk, .info , it's just a top level domain , they have covered there ass by saying its a voluntary move , if you try to sue they can just come back with "not my fault you were too slow to register "
