Returning nightmares. You have them?
Snakes keep biting me. They don't let go either. They just hang in my arm.
This night i was bitten by a snake. I was able to pull it off my arm and throw it away but he kept coming back at an amazing speed and was able to jump and bite me in my chest and hand. I found a hospital but just like gfy it was full of noobs. Nobody had a clue wtf they were doing. While i felt breathing was getting harder by the minute i had to tell them to give me anti venom but they had no clue what where and how. At this point i woke up, thank god. Pretty shitty dream. I have similar dreams all the time. Also with spiders. Gigantic spiders that can run and jump way too fast. |
My wife has recurring dreams of someone in our room. She hasn't slept solid in years.

You should look up what that stuff means! I have returning nightmares too (one that I have a LOT is about not preparing for an exam at school... hmmm!), returning dreams as well and I seem to live a whole different life in my dreams.

Same recurring dream with cats. Except the hospital part. For the last 20 years.
|
I used to have them a lot as a kid. I find that you can teach yourself to realize in your dream that you are dreaming. If you can reach that point then generally the dream disappears and you continue sleeping without waking up. I've heard other people have been able to do this as well.

If it comes back to bite you in the ass... then you have a problem.

"To a Freudian, however, snakes may be seen as classic phallic symbols. They may be considered to represent the penis itself, or as a symbol of a person?s sexuality."

I don't remember any of my dreams for the past 10 ~ 15 years ...
|
uhuh sometimes
|
I used to have a bunch of them. I ended up doing what dv2 said in his reply and it ended up that I'd want the dreams to come back, to see what happened after the point that woke me up. They would recur after that, but eventually faded after I realized (while sleeping) that they were dreams.

i hardly remember my dreams

Here's a recurring dream I had as a kid that I still remember vividly to this day (and I'm 43 now) Must have happened when I was five or six:
I was sitting on the stairs that lead to the front door of our house. The door was open, it was a sunny day. I had a clear view of the street, and could see the sidewalk up to the neighbours house, where my view of the sidewalk became blocked by bushes. As I sat on the steps, I could hear parade music approaching, and soon a group of purple hippos in marching band uniforms came into view past the bushes. For some reason they terrified me, these cartoon hippos in their cute little uniforms, playing their jolly, uptempo music, proudly marching up the walk in front of my house. I prayed (in my dream) that they wouldn't notice me, but as soon as they reached the foot of our walk, the leader would turn his big purple head towards me and smile a big, happy, hippo smile. As the rest of the band began to follow the bandmaster's lead, I'd jump up and run into the kitchen, scared shitless, where my mother and her friend were doing the dishes. My mother was Betty Rubble and her friend was Wilma Flintstone. Everything in the dream was black and white except for the hippos and Flintstone characters. Hence my fondness for alcohol :) |
As a child a had recurring nightmares but I learned how to recognize them while sleeping and they gradually disappeared.
Now I can't remember my dreams after I wake up. |
I usually don't remember my dreams. When I do have the occasional nightmare I can always wake myself out of them. I'm always like "wait this can't really happen in real life, oh I guess I must be dreaming" and wham I wake up.
Works great for nightmares.....sucks REALLY bad for a good sex dream... "Oh wait, I can't really be fucking Pamala Anderson, this must be a dream" and I wake up saying "oh shit, fall back to sleep, fall back to sleep", LOL. |
