A Sunday photo-prop project [PICS]

Today I swapped photoshop - for the workshop...and took advantage of some nice weather to spend the day buildin' a new photoshoot prop. A bondage rack.

The wife decided to document the progress with the camera.

A few pics:

Nice job you did there!

Pete-KT 05-07-2006 07:15 PM

Nice now whats it used for?

RawAlex 05-07-2006 08:27 PM

You will likely need a brace across the bottom, otherwise when you put someone on the top it will pull apart at the middle... nice idea, though.

It would look that way - but each joint is put together with six 5" countersunk screws and a 1x8" steel conduit pipe recessed inside the joint.

Its not going anywhere. I put my full 160lbs on it and it didn't budge :)

madawgz 05-07-2006 09:27 PM

haha good job, looks perfect!

Juilan 05-07-2006 09:28 PM

As in the first post - its.......a......bondage......rack.

When we get the second paint coat on it tomorrow and get it installed in the studio - I'll toss up a few test pics with the model 'installed'. :winkwink:

woj 05-07-2006 09:30 PM

good job :thumbsup

Its the remnants of my neighbour's old backyard porch he tore down last summer...and an old wooden fouton we replaced last fall. Total cost was a couple of bucks for screws.

Last summer I used the rest of his porch to build a 7-foot medieval stockade I designed. Same deal - cost me a few bucks in screws and hardware only.

joefriday 05-07-2006 09:34 PM

Yeah yeah lets see someone strapped to it !!

sniperwolf 05-07-2006 10:13 PM

good work.. it feels good to be able to accomplish something isn't it?

Buildin' props is always cathartic and relaxing. Plus its always satisfying to create something outta basically junk that other people would normally haul to the local dump.

Spunky 05-07-2006 10:19 PM

Let's see the wife strapped to it :)

Sparks 05-07-2006 10:21 PM

Nice work! My problem would be that I wouldn't know what to tell the nighbors when they came over to talk about what I was working on, lol.

My neighbour knows what we do for a living. He got a kick outta seeing his old deck turned into a stockade.

He hasn't seen the new rack project yet, tho.

I usually keep the door wide open when buildin' stuff. I could care less who knows. Makes for great conversation sometimes. :winkwink:

Work continued on the new prop today - with the addition of a shelf on one side...and a second coat of paint. We also managed to get it installed in the studio.

Model shoot using it will be middle of next week when we have a new first-time model working with us.

Should be fun.

Pic of it in the studio earlier...

Needs a model for sure. :thumbsup

Thanks.

No padding planned. Cushions are for weenies. We were thinking some strategically-placed thumbtacks.

Thanks bro. The needles are just props I tossed on the shelf to fill up space, lol. We don't do needleplay stuff. Actually...the wife uses them for her chemo injections - those are just spares.
