hey polish,
im not in adult anymore so havent read shit regarding .xxx and dont give a shit either, but isnt it true that only people from usa wont be able to use porn on .com and people from eu still are? if thats true, no probs for you. just update your sponsor url with .xxx instead of .com. and if you are your own sponsor then its even better hehe. yah think people from the usa would give a shit about .xxx when it is the other way around? hah. |

No same shit different day...... Here is the humor of all this....sat next to FSC Tom Hymes in Phoenix at the show, he said this " we could have killed it (.XXX) at the last world conference, only if we had letters of support from our industry" how pathetic is that, people get off your big white butts ..... |

and it could theoretically be made mandatory on a global level in future some politicians want to make it mandatory, other oppose it, religious gropus oppose it too, porn guys mostly oppose it ( although there are a few sellouts who want to profit from it so they support it ) actually it has much opposition and the only ppl who want it are the guys from ICANN and the ICM Registry, who applied to run .xxx and they have no porn background but claim to want to create .xxx so the 'responsible' adult webmasters can put their sites there to protect children and some bullshit and they claim that it will put self regulation into the adult industry while in fact the board structure of the ogranisation running it will mostly consist of child protection experts and no ppl from the adult world well everyone has a different agenda and there are many reasons why just the simple fact making a 'voluntary .xxx in a few days from now could evolve into a mandatory .xxx for porn content webmasters who branded their coms would lose huge income, there would be legal nightmare with everyone competing for the same .xxx domains, porn would be filtered everywhere, also on ISP level, often by default etc etc well lots of scenarios + I also have my own reason ( not mentioned here ) why I am strongly opposed to this idea :) ok that was long, even though the thread wasnt serious |

ok i see Polish. thanx.
I doubt the big .com companies will have to give up their names. They just get their stuff settled in Europe et voila. And even then, just like .eu they will probably have the privilege to register the company name .xxx before anyone else. The USA will never get the censor bullshit done in Europe, since europe is really 'free', so i doubt that it will be impossible for USA people to have .com porn sites. and especially now when it's only voluntary i dont see anything happening soon. so all these gfy threads regarding opposing .xxx and posting like sheeps on some kind of internet page that no one is ever going to read, is only amusing. |
Even if it only affects those in the US, it's best to nip it in the bud so that a precedent isn't set for it to be used elsewhere.
|
The obvious thing is that if it works in the US, it will spread. Alsp tons of the big sponsors are here. Sp if you want a shake up this is one way toget it but who knows if you will be successful afterwards? Chinese curse and blessing, "May you be born in interesting times."
