REMINDER: ServerProvider = worst host ever

Just wanted to warn people: serverprovider.com is the most uncompetent host i've ever dealt with.

So i've had a couple of domains there, optimized for Search Engines.
Everything was fine, a lot of se traffic was pouring in.

Then one day i noticed complete lack of Google hits.
Turns out, the sites got penalized. Used to have top 10 listings and now gone beyound 100.

Why? Because for some unknown reason serverproveder.com swithced my IPs from separate to shared.

I still can't find out why this happened. Support is non-existant. I sent an email to them 3 days ago, and Sami replied: "we will investigate". Not a signle "I'm sorry this happened".

So 3 days after they've been notified of the problem my sites are still on shared IPs.

If you ever think of hosting there - don't.

I hear Cogent is getting better, we where thinking about bringing in a 100 meg line this month for some cheap dedicated deals.

Is it really that bad still?

I prefer cogent over verio... serverprovider offers both, cogent is just cheaper.

they're not using cogent anymore. I think its Level3 now.

CaptainHowdy 05-07-2006 01:23 PM

That's scary stuff...

Sami 05-07-2006 01:28 PM

Hello,

1) We are a reseller to no one except of our upstreams as is every other hosting company on this board.
2) We are multi-homed bgped network.
3) Your virtual hosting account is on queue to be reset to multiple ip#s. Your account had been swapped to a shared ip# as of 4 months ago when we had to move data centers when VERIO closed down all networks in California.
