HELP: canon 20d vs. olympus E-500
what would you choose?
i can get the olympus for only 800$ with 1 lens kit about the canon 20d. its worth almost 1000$ with lens and stuff. anyone have experiences with these cameras? i heard that olympus e-500 has self-cleaning features and canon 20d doesnt have and a lot of people here would vouch on canon 20d. what do you think? im just starting photography so what do you think would be the best for a newbie like me? thanks guys. |
Canon 20D is old now
go with Nikon D200 and spend more really worth the extra if your going sub $1000 it really matters not my rule is simple.... Shit in = shit out the camera matters not |
I would go with the 20D, it costs a little more but worth it in the long run:2 cents: :thumbsup

I love pbase.com. You can really see how well cameras perform from thousands of user images to compare and comments.

if i were just starting out, knowing what i know now, i would stay exclusively with canon. i have a fortune in nikon glass, but most pros are moving to canon. just got a 5D. it smokes any nikon i've ever had at high ISO. better images, that SELL better. and that's the bottom line in pro shooting. |
canon all the way

Canon 20d.

The 20d is discontinued. The 30d is the new model and has a bigger lcd. The cool thing about the new Olympus is it is the first digital point and shoot that I know of with a moveable viewable LCD screen. Less laying on the floor.
But Canon stuff is everywhere. Just go to any camera store and check out the difference in selection. And you can continue to use your lens on most Canon upgrades. |
