I've actually been FUCKING HORRIBLY stressed out for say the past 8 months...and my anxiety and stress increases when I take a long walk, or try to spend time offline..since nothing gets done while I 'relax'.. so while in theory that's a good advice, it doesn't work. :)

I had the same thing awhile back.

I would go out at walk to try and relax, and I would almost get panic attacks. Odd. But then went to dr's, and he gave me some Xanex. Problem solved. Although I do not take it all the time like I guess you are supposed to, it helps with what he's calling social anxiety. Which is odd. I am not antisocial, but whatever. It worked all the same.

However, I also cut back from the 7 day a week, 18 hour days to 5 day, 10 hours, and that helped. Along with changing diet. Taking breaks and lunches away from the computer, or going out for lunch.

Exercise helped some too. All in all much better now.

:2 cents:

im stressed too, some biz deal gone bad :/

Jakke PNG 05-07-2006 05:16 AM

I don't do drugs, I try to even avoid aspirin.
As soon as I get my shit done I'm sure my stress levels will ease out, luckily I don't have high blood pressure or such, otherwise I'd be fucked. lol.:)

I hope that come august I can relax. :)

polish_aristocrat 05-07-2006 05:18 AM

xanax can be taken just from time to time?

tenderobject 05-07-2006 05:21 AM

The secret to Peace of Mind is coming to the inner realization that:

Ultimately Nothing Matters

Once you master total acceptance of this philosphy that you come in to this life butt naked and you will leave butt naked, and everything in between, be it good or bad, is just an experience you must go through and learn from, then you realize nothing really matters, so stress can't get to you any more, because its all just bullshit.

Yes. You are not supposed to take it that way according to the documentation because it's supposed to be one of those that you take daily, and build up whatever.

But the dr's also have said you can take it when needed. They've given it to me in the E.R. before when I was all wired. I also take it for flights, and when I can't sleep, or have anxiety.

It works great (for me) doing it that way. I do not need that shit daily. Only in certain circumstances. So I take it, 30-60 minutes later. Problem solved.

Xanex is an anti anxiety drug more than some antidepressant people think it is. It helps calm you down so you are not as stressed. I've taken both, and Xanex is great for when you are too wired to sleep, or get a lot of anxiety for flights, and so on.

I do not need it otherwise, and do not take it daily. The dr's have said it's fine doing it that way. Best results is take daily then you never get the panic, and then do not have to wait the 30-60 minutes. But fuck that.

:disgust

That's not true and you know it. :)

The start and the end might be the same for all, but what's in between is what matters.

ahh yes biz is getting worst.. that the first thing that i am freakin stress out lateley.

pussyluver 05-07-2006 07:58 AM

The anwser is:

Drink less
Eat better
Exercise and avoid multiple hours in front of the screen with out a break
Sex, even if it is with a fleshlight
Socialize

Then if you have to see your doctor for drugs and to make sure nothing else is going on physically

As last resort see a shrink

Problem solved. Easier said than done. Seems like most web masters suffer anxiety and panic attacks. Wonder how we compare to national averages?

A good night out with the girl/guy you love (or at least like a lot and have tremendous respect for - just fucking a hotbod after a party night ain't the same). All night lovemaking. Breakfast and coffee in bed. All day lovemaking. Share pot if that's your thing (not mine tho). Share a good, mellow, time with nothing but each other's eyes and faces and bodies for landscape, a world in a bubble...

Make sure there's no working computer in the same building though... I think s/he'd rather wake up next to you than to the sound of that fucking keyboard again lol.

I find that even if I'm under pressure and deadlines, I'm better off doing something along the lines of what I just described because I come back to the work refreshed. No matter how much work and time-intensity you put in, you end up affecting your productivity so that it's the same as if you took the time away - the difference being that with the time off you actually gain personal gratification along the way...

.

your problem can be fixed in 30 mins ....... just take one of those small E pills and your stress will be gone, it will be like restarting your brain :)
