Bimonthly payment??

Hi. I would like to know...if a sponsor says that pays "bimonthly", does it pay every 2 months? or every 2 weeks? 2 times in a month or every 2 month?.
I have that doubt, I hope you may help me.
Sorry if my english is not good enough.

polish_aristocrat 05-06-2006 04:24 PM

always every two weeks :)

Bi monthly = twice a month, with pay periods beginning on the 1st and the 16th.

It is nearly the same thing as bi weekly, but not exactly, since bi weekly means every 14 days.

Great! every 2 weeks...:)
Thank you all very much for your help.

"Bi-monthly" means you will get payed every 1,296,000 seconds.

Its one of those screw ups in our language because it can mean either.

Not every 2 weeks, twice per month. Every 2 weeks would mean like every other Tuesday. Bimonthly means twice a month, usually on the 1st and the 16th...so the day of the week you get paid on changes. Also, every 2 weeks means that occasionally you get paid 3 times in a month, that will never happen with bimonthly payments.

Yeah, it is quite annoying, too. Every time I see it I have to stop and think about it.

i think "semi-monthly" means twice a month --- "bi-monthly" is every other month

Sammy4u 05-06-2006 07:38 PM

Good question, I get confused on that one myself! Seems bi-monthly would mean every other month, but that is not the way it is actually meant. They actually mean twice a month.

madawgz 05-06-2006 09:32 PM

every 2 weeks.....

However you look at "bi-monthly", find out how long they hold funds before releasing them. Two weeks is ok with me, but I recently sent a bunch of traffic to a couple of programs that asked and found out they hold for a month before sending out checks. Fucking annoying.

Love your handle. Vincent Price was always a favourite of mine. Dr. Phibes is shown on Scream channel up here all the time. :thumbsup
