Does this qualify as a lake or not? (pics)
Most of you have prolly seen my "little" pond. This is the big one, 'bout a ten minute hike through my woods. Lake or not?
Really kinda hard to get a good pic of the whole thing, too many trees. |

How deep is it? Could be a "swamp".

Hard to say for sure from the pics - I'd go with pond.
Nice area. What's the mosquito and blackfly count? |
General rule, if you can skip a rock across it. It is a pond.
|
I've just been up there with a chainsaw clearing shoreline.
Anyone know of a good company to outsource that sort of thing to? I'm really tired. heh |
Technically that would be a pond..but who cares what it is...it is water...it has fish....still makes you a lucky son-of-a-b for having that on your property.
|
well what's it called?
Lake Something something or something something Pond? |
like i said already in another thread, looks like a great place to live...

that would be a quarry. |

naw dude its not a quarry. youre talking to a hoosier here. besides, i already have some land that has a quarry on it and its wayyyyyy different. apparently that beer spillage has killed my cap lock. |
Looks nice. Is it steam fed? Seen any snakes yet? My lagoon has a shitload of snakes around it in several spots.
|
mnn at least here in Argentina in order to call a body of water a LAKE it must have an efluent and an afluent.. (water coming in.. like a river.. creek.. or something..) and water coming out .. another river thats born in that lake or something..
|
BTW i envy you.. having my own private lake would be my dream come true ! btw where is it?
|
yea, it's a lake...
|
if it's under 20 acres, then its a pond
