What's the best desktop computer money can buy?

Is the Alianware Aurora ALX at about $17,000 the best PC on the market or is there another one that can beat it?

Liquid Houdini 05-06-2006 07:24 AM

The question is - why?

Will investing $17k in a computer net you more profits than one for $2k?

What do you do - carry it around on your shoulders whenever you visit potential clients? Take snapshots of it in your wallet to flash? Mount it on the hood of your ___________ (insert ego car model here)?

You da man, Herb Tarlek. :thumbsup

I perceive them as idiots with small penises. Also people surfing for porn are going to know what type of computer you have?

qwe 05-06-2006 11:56 AM

i builded pc not too long ago for like 2.5k and this thing goes through anything... any games, any apps I run, that 4400 dual core x2 cpu is always at 40-50% usage nometter what I run, IT JUST DOESNT MAX OUT lol... so my point is, anything over 5k is a waste...

SilentKnight 05-06-2006 12:17 PM

What an amusing little thread. :1orglaugh :1orglaugh

Cyrano 05-06-2006 12:21 PM

You'd have to be a complete and utter moron to spend $17,000 on a PC.

Fucksakes 05-06-2006 12:22 PM

did i not make enough posts about alienware being crap?

do some research about them before reading all the bullshit they post on their site to grab your interest.

And I warn you they got the worst support I've ever came across.

Fucksakes 05-06-2006 12:24 PM

However, I don't find the Alianware Aurora to be wasted money since your getting top-of-lines features for the price. What other computer pc can match it for that price or less?

Buy a decent system ($3,000 - $5,000) instead. Upgrade certain components every year or two, you'll save a lot of money.

Spunky 05-06-2006 12:48 PM

I wouldn't waste 17k on a desktop..ridiculous

madawgz 05-07-2006 09:19 AM

seriously, someone would spend 17k on a desktop??

psili 05-07-2006 09:26 AM

This thread's a joke, right?

It has to be. Really.

Otherwise, someone's a fucking retard, in the literal sense; they have downs syndrome and are very handicapped and should be kept away from a computer in the first place.

People do spend more than 17K on a good desktop.

What are they doing with that "desktop" ?

A "desktop" computer is a general purpose machine, used to perform basic everyday functions.

A $17,000 "desktop" is not a "desktop" but a machine built, bought and used for a highly specific purpose.

Unless I'm missing something here, which I could be. I could buy a $17,000 machine built to render video, but if I only used it to check email and surf the net without having shelled out the money for video rendering software specifically designed for that machine, I'd consider myself retarded.

What are we discussing again?
