Pippen - "LeBron will be better the Michael (Jordan)"

For all of you that don't seem to pay much attention to LeBron James, but have a lot to say about him...what can you say when one of the top 50 players in NBA history says something like that?

Just said it during the intro to tonight's game. :pimp

Pure Evil 05-05-2006 05:09 PM

I don't think he'll be nearly the player MJ was in his prime

ashley. 05-05-2006 05:11 PM

I think of sports as the window to the end of the world. Although, water polo is mildly fascinating.

*shoots some b-ball outside of the school.

tenderobject 05-05-2006 05:12 PM

uhmm does lebron know how to play baseball? :P

LeBron's next season he'll be the same age Jordan was when he came in the league...and look at what he's already done. :pimp

You don't have a clue.

How do you even compare the two? First of all Lebron never went to college, so he would have been in the league longer than Jordan anyways.. Secondly, I love Pippen as my second favorite player next to MJ, but that's just his opinion. Thirdly, if any of you actually pay attention to basketball, you'd see that Lebron isn't going to be Michael Jordan, nor is he trying. Lebron is pretty much the Magic Johnson of the new millennium so that's not compareable. Finally, if you ARE going to compare the two, recognize that Kobe Bryant is the greatest player on the planet and I don't see Lebron being better than him. In terms of productivity and the level of value for your team, Lebron is next to Steve Nash.. But a Michael Jordan he will never be.

IWantU_Jeff 05-05-2006 06:03 PM

not the same game it was when Jordan was there.

better than Jordan in THIS game maybe..better than Jordan back then. wow dunno.
Not knockin on LeBron, I like him... but Jordan is Jordan ;)

xclusive 05-05-2006 06:04 PM

pippen was always jealous of Jordan.

The Demon 05-05-2006 08:26 PM

As long as Jordan was playing and #1 in the league, Pippen was always #2.

Vitasoy 05-05-2006 08:48 PM

He does not have MJ ora yet

mastermikex 05-05-2006 08:48 PM

Statistically, LeBron's numbers are pretty similar to Jordan's in 90-91 when he won his first championship. LeBron in fact, has better rebounding and assist numbers, while Jordan has a higher shooting %. However, Jordan was 27 i think at that time while Lebron is still only 21. TWENTY ONE! Can you imagine how good he's gonna get when he's already KILLING everybody now? Just surround him with a few better players and I think he will surpass Jordan.

triumph 05-05-2006 08:49 PM

how big is Lebron? you seem to know everything about him including his future championships!

RogerV5 05-05-2006 08:52 PM

lebron kinda sucks dude

Skylark 05-05-2006 10:03 PM

Pippen seems to be a bit of an idiot.
Yeah, he was a good #2 and all with Jordan, but I think his top 50 player status is pretty arguable. Anyhow, he seems to say randomly unnecessary things from time to time.

Beejeebers 05-05-2006 10:10 PM

Pippen is a dildo. He would be nothing without Jordan and he does not deserve to be in the top 50. He should be bottom 50. As soon as Jordan left, Pippen was playing like the garbage player he is.

That said, Lebron is a great player. He's the most dominant player in the league right now. He's far better then the rapist guy on the Lakers, but not quite Nash caliber yet...

Wrong, the most dominant player in the league is Kobe Bryant, whether you like it or not, this is a fact. Lebron hasn't gotten up to the level of Kobe in terms of dominance, and he might never get there because he's a playmaker not a scorer. He's a Magic Johnson not a Michael Jordan. I also like it how you guys try and quantify Lebron's skill from now til 27. Very logical. Oh, and Pippen does deserve to be one of the 50 greatest players, if you don't agree, try watching his whole career, and the 2 seasons without Jordan specifically. He was incredible in his prime.

gecko 05-05-2006 11:08 PM

Too early to tell, but he has the potential to do it

D-Money 05-06-2006 12:19 AM

How many of you can say you've watched almost every single Lebron/Cavs game since he started 3 years ago?

I can say that I have, he's improved each year and is already a very complete package doing a little of every great superstar before him, including Jordon. Sometimes it's pretty freaky to watch.

Towards the middle of this season is when Lebron focused on finishing off opponents at the end of games. He's looking alot like Jordon, going to the line, and one... Also, he has a 3 point shot and can shot from anywhere on the court or take it to the basket with 3 or 4 defenders on him.

Once his defense is as good as his offense, then he'll really be Jordanlike. But he's got good defense now, he just doesn't contest lay ups unless he can get his hand on the ball. I guess he doesn't want the risk of getting too many fouls.

But seriously, even Scottie knows Lebron is in the same class with Jordan, even better in their early careers.

If Lebron takes over on Sunday and beats the Pistons, would any of you change your minds?

Your head is way too much up Kobe's ass. Which player is leading the NBA in the playoffs in scoring? Not the rapist. Who has more game winning shots? Not the rapist.

There is no questions that I, without any injuries, will be the best player to play the game. I play just like Jordan and Magic and thats what makes hme better. I have the good qualities from a bunch of different players. I'm what happens when you combine all the greats.

BAKO 05-06-2006 01:37 AM

You don't have a clue.

thats because MJ went to college retard. and if you want to think clearly about it, look at how many HOF players were playing when MJ played

Mr. Mojo Risin 05-06-2006 03:04 PM

Lebron has a couple of good years and he's automatically forecasted to be better than MJ? You can't compare him to MJ till he wins at least one championship and has at least 5 years with great stats. Lebron is truly as good as the hype, but don't go comparing a guy who's only had 2 good years so far and one playoff series win and no championships to MJ yet. I'm not saying Kobe is the next MJ, but he is a lot closer right now than Lebron.

Compare 6 games to 80 some games in the regular season and see who has the higher PPG average. The guy with the highest is the best, huh?

Good point, Lebron is a different style player. More like Magic indeed....

Manowar 05-06-2006 03:11 PM

I won't even say Kobe is as good as Jordan(or better) until he wins another championship without Shaq. I won't predict that he will better than Jordan either. I will say he is closer to being equivalent or better to Jordan than anyone else in the league.

Beejeebers 05-06-2006 03:20 PM

The rapist will never be as good as MJ was. The rapist is one dimensional. Anyone who puts up 30+ shots per game should score at least 30 points per game at .500 shooting.

Oh and Pippen is a loser who couldn't hack it without MJ. He is crap. I could beat him and I've got a bad knee.

He is becoming more and more multidimensional. If you watched the first 4 games of the Lakers/Phoenix series, you would have seen it. Lately and in most of the regular season, when Kobe tried to assist more, his teamates didn't make the shots and lately they haven't. Last game he had to score 50 to "try" to win. When your teamates can't score, you don't pass the ball to them. I'm sure MJ wouldn't either. MJ was a ball hog mainly too, especially early on in his career. Who passed the ball to Shaq in the three championships?

Mr. Mojo Risin 05-06-2006 03:30 PM

Pass the ball to Kwame and half the time Kwame won't catch it. His teammates won't shoot much and pass him the ball, because they know he has a better chance to score, which is the object of the game.

Mr. Mojo Risin 05-06-2006 03:32 PM

Also, Kobe's assists would be higher than Lebron's if his teammates could score as well as Lebron's teammates can. He would have more rebounds if he was a forward too.

The Demon 05-09-2006 06:37 AM

Looks like youre shit out of luck on the opinions Banner Debt, time to move on. And yes, Kobe is changing his game to be more unselfish, yet he is still the most unstoppable force in the game and a LOT closer to MJ than Lebron.
