skufty won't eat

skufty won't eat his breakfast but he's bugging me for dinner.

should i throw out his breakfast? - perfectly good food and give him a new dinner or wait - he'll eventually eat the breakfast if he gets hungry enough...

Triple 6 05-04-2006 05:34 PM

hes gonna die.

Malicious Biz 05-04-2006 05:34 PM

Maybe it's high cholesterol and he's watching his weight

nico-t 05-04-2006 05:37 PM

skufty = gay

WarChild 05-04-2006 05:38 PM

You know, one of my dogs stopped eating the other day. She wouldn't eat the day after either, so the morning of the third day I took her to the Vet right away as she was quite dehydraded. The damn thing had 14 rocks in her stomach she had to pass. Stupid dog. :(

Are his meals different?
Do they spoil; i.e. not dry food?

If it's the same meal and the breakfast one is safe to eat, don't even think of giving him dinner. He'll walk all over you after that.

Adult Site Traffic 05-04-2006 05:39 PM

A cat, yes?

That begging pot-licker won't give up until he gets his way, and that is to get the human to give in.

Do it now and save yourself the ultimate humiliation of not being able to outlast the willpower of a manipulative cat ;)

Dude if you're worried, it's simple. Give him something he absolutely wouldn't pass up. If he won't eat it, he's sick. I know my dog would never pass up on a can of tuna, I swear he can smell that shit before I get the can open.

Commit suicide and he'll have enough food for 10 years.

SleazyDream 05-04-2006 06:06 PM

What is the difference between his breakfast food and his dinner.

Maybe it is something in the breakfast that he wont eat. I buy two bags of dog food at a time. One that my dog always eats, and one new one. I once had to give away a 20lbs bag because he wouldnt eat it.

i didn't do that to the dog and it's not me in the pic....infact i cried when the old lady with all the cats in gremlins flew out the window because nobody would be able to feed the cats and they would die..cheesy but true....i do not condone animal cruelty or eating them but why let it go to waste?

Peaches 05-04-2006 07:39 PM

LOL, bring another dog into the house. My three damn near kill each other to see how fast they can eat their food then get into another one's bowl ;) And that's twice a day! Who says you can't have fun out in the woods??!!

Take away his current food for about 30 minutes, drop it back down in front of him after, and he'll go after it like its new.

My pup started getting picky about food timing like that so I checked around and found that to be the most recommended method.

Also to keep it from happening, get Skufty in the mode of having a feeding time.

Fill up his dish in the morning, give him 30-45 minutes to eat it, and then take it away, and dont give it back until nighttime feeding, where he gets 30-45 minutes again.

He might get a little extra beggy the first few days, my Ginger wouldn't stop whining when we ate in front of her, but after that, when it becomes a habit... she nails her food to the last bite every time i drop the dish... and it gives us time to eat without her around giving us puppy eyes.

I've given up trying to fool my dogs...or try to win the battle of wills.

If they don't eat, I give them new food. They win and I can live with that.

munki 05-05-2006 06:02 AM

Can the world ever see too much of Skufty's Balls

E$_manager 05-05-2006 08:46 AM

If i were you, i'd change the breakfast for the new one, if he wouldn't eat another one - he is ill - go to doctor.
But some clever people will suggest you to leave the breakfast and he will eventually eat it.

ServerGenius 05-05-2006 08:52 AM

Try explaining him how lucky he is to have food. Mention all the poor doggies
in Africa how they don't get food for weeks and have to run for miles and miles to get a drop of water. Then see if it eats his breakfast :pimp

E$_manager 05-05-2006 10:04 AM

my friend has just proposed to close the dog in a room for 1 day and then he would eat everything.
Bad idea.

PurrrsianPussyKat 05-05-2006 10:40 AM

Do you always feed him the same kind of food? Variety?
If you mix it up, He may just not like that particular flavor today.

I'd dump it and give him something different. A can of dog food is cheap compared to giving him some kind of food poisoning. ;)

CaptainWolfy 05-05-2006 10:45 AM

just a bump here

Elli 05-05-2006 10:51 AM

We need a Skufty report! How's he doing?

CDSmith 05-05-2006 10:52 AM

My pooch is probably spoiled too. I buy a high-end dry dog food for him, the stuff that's about twice as expensive as the usual stuff they sell in the stores, the "dog chow's" etc. I feed him once a day, as I've done for 16 years now, and I mix a little chopped-up leftovers in with it or else I pour some beef broth over it and mix it up for him.... and he gobbles it down in about 90 seconds flat every time.

...then he runs straight to me as if to thankme or something. :D
