AOL are fucking scammers!
So today my mom asks me why does she have a $99.00 bill from AOL on her bank statement, she is an EX-AOL member, they billed her outta the blue.
i called the number that was listed on the bank statement and told them we're not paying it and remove the charge he then began trying to sell me, saying the charge is a yearly subscription to AOL Netmarket, i said i want to talk to whoever is in charge for authorizing them to take payment from my Moms card he gave me jibba bullshit, he was an outsourced Jamaican fag fucking scammers, just think, tons of people probably will never notice AOL taking $100 a year from them and giving them absolutely NOTHING for it that is so fucked up |
heh, like porn sites don't do the exact same thing...
|
well porn is diff subject...........i mean, this is A O fucking L!!!!!! i used to think they were a respectable company, now i think of them as fucking scammers
|
fuckin idiots......

that's why you get a cancellation # whenever you cancel an account.
|
Netmarket is an option inside of AOL you must subscribe to. It is not just added to your service nor is it hidden somewhere when you join AOL. After you sign up with netmarket they give you an offer to try it out for like three months where you can cancel at any time and incure no charges, otherwise you pay the yearly fee of 99.00. Then they send you catelogs all the damn time.
It is not cancelled when you cancell AOL, and the only person to blame is the person that subscribed to netmarket. |

I just got a bill from Cricket and havent had their service in years...
think I'm paying it? fuckin companies stealing money |
Ya... if you sign up for a reoccuring service, it's your own fault... caveat emptor and shit...
Though I do think that a more respectable company might realize that when a user teminated their subscription to their overall service, they should also cancel all subservices. But I agree 100% with Elli - AOL's never really been a "respectable" company in any sense other than their smart business tactics... though they charged an assload for it, AOL had a decent little pay-BBS going before the internet hit mainstream... and when it did, they did their best to maintain and keep people in their little "cave" in the online world... I remember using free tiral after free trial jfor their downloads - and realizing how frikkin slow their internet services were when compared to services I could get for free from a local BBS. That mentality still exists to date, I think... their perversion of IE still doesn't integrate with some internet standards. Sure, they've done a lot to bring the modern online world to Joe-"I don't know shit about computers"-Average... guess you can respect that, too... but, having watched them for the last decade and a half, it doesn't surprise me in the least that they'd try to rip off Joe's wallet when he's already out the door. |
i smell a chargeback :)
|
aolers like to charge back :2 cents:

Always get a cancellation number, or person's name when dealing with that. Most things have a # to them in their system if that actually issued an order. Quote:
